I was on a 34 at this little t/s in SC, when in the middle of the afternoon yesterday, a Knight driver backs in next to me. About an hour later, on comes his stereo....loud.
I moved....easier that way. I was in a lousy mood between arguing with Crete, not feeling well, and a few other odd things and didn't figure a fight was in my best interest....
So I parked at the far quiet end of the truckstop.....

500 bucks says it was a red Knight truck. A lot of the dry van guys do that for some reason. I hated parking near them at terminals and truck stops. They like to blast sports radio and rap music.

The other day I was bobtail, found an almost empty truckstop. Parked with about 5 spaces to ether side of me no trucks. Woke up in the morning, 1 truck on each side, 4 spaces each side of them over were empty lol. Truckers are like little girls who all have to go to the bathroom together lol.
Logan76 and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
I find it easier to back in beside a parked truck, especially at night when it's harder to see the lines. Plus, that's one side less to worry about getting backed into. Lolscottied67 and Busasamurai Thank this.

I went to bed on an on ramp last night and woke up to a truck infront of and behind me, you cant escape them!

you know its funny reading these posts sometimes cause newer drivers think they know it all. Yes I may only have 13 years driving legally But I have been around trucks my whole life thanks to my family being drivers and me going out on the road every summer. As far as the the industry changing. Ill be #### if it hasnt. we used to have respect and common curtousy (sp and dont care). But that has gone out the door. I used to haul a refer unit and would park away from all other trucks just so I didnt upset anyone. And that way if you pulled in next to me you already knew what you where getting into. But then again Im also a midnight rider and I am parking when most of you are getting up and leaving the T/S.

I should post where I'm parked. I'm on I 80 with a reefer load in Ohio. I'm in the furthest spot from the trucks and I'm in backward. Even if someone parks next to me, they won't hear much of my reefer. It's the little things like this that count. I don't care if nobody else wants to try, but I feel better when I try to be courteous.
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
oh thats you beside me! you need to move your reefer is bothering me. lol.Logan76 Thanks this.

Isn't this the truth. I always shake my head when I park or go to take a break during the day. Spots all over the lot and drivers will come and park right beside me. I just don't get it. Are guys scared to be alone? Or is it the pack mentality? I just don't understand the logic.....scottied67 Thanks this.

Like I said....one less side to get backed into

I will park next to you with open spots to minimize the chance of getting hit, but I'll shut my truck down if it's a nice day. I'll turn my APU on if you have your truck/apu running. If not, I will park somewhere else.
