Swift has come out and defined the limits for Line 5 Elog use. They are limiting the usage to 3 hours a day, only while bobtail and if you're coming from your house going to get a dispatch you will not be able to use Line 5. Also if you are repositioning your truck to a better freight lane will not be able to use Line 5 either.

Line 5 which is not set for DOT logs is more for company breaking down of how the driver is using the tractor on E-Logs. Conveyance which they are using line 5 for is only to be used if not under a load. They are correct that if you are leaving your house to go to a yard to pick up a trailer you are technically under a load. Repositioning your truck would be considered D/H miles and you would be under a load.
Paperlogs conveyance is logged on Line 1 - Off Duty.scottied67 Thanks this. -
So now before this rule went into effect how much of line 5 does the average o/o use? just curious as i might lease in a few months so wondering how this will effect the drivers

I just used it to get from the cons to a truck stop, but without a trailer. The way that I read it, if you are even leaving a customer to go to a hotel, on duty, but is that with or without a trailer
