Still here in houston. After waiting 3 hours after accepting a pplan finally dispatched. PU at 0315, Wal-Mart DC, some kinda screwy load, a timed run. Talked to DM, told me to pick it up in the morning when can as long as it gets del no later than 1515 on the 4th. I think that I can get 720 miles by then, even if pu at 0900. Got my home load back, but really messes up my home time and miles for next week. Usually home on Monday and back out on Fri. Can get miles b4 home, and can get miles b4 pay cutoff. Ohhhh well.

I hate this job.... Ran outta time on this 300 mile load because only way to shipper was 120 miles of goat trails.... Took 3.5 hrs to get to shipper Then Swift directions took me to the office entrance not truck entrance, which wasn't labeled... But they were considerate enough to put no truck sighs up all over... And reciver is closed on weekend... So... I have to sit two whole days.... #%£€#!!!

    Good Morning Micbay.
Could you have used your own gps and found a different route ( shorter ) ? and maybe called the shipper to see if they were open, for the weekend before taking the load ? I know that in life ( jobs/wife's/etc ) we ALL , run into that brick wall, the trick is finding away around it .

Woulda taken just as long and more miles to take the big road... Coulda made it, if I averaged 50mph, wasn't delayed finding shipper, shipper knew where paperwork was for load when at gate, was two hrs earlier in the day(rush hr), finding a place to park after 19:00... Just too many cards stacked agenst us... Also, we only have 15 mins to figure out if we can take the load or not now... all little setback that back in he day of paper fiction writers could easily fix or a 750 mile load could made up for.

that and I hadn eaten for 8 hrs so I was getting cranky.

Well, I endup dropping at a yard in E.St. Louis and after denying the same load all day, about 6 times, I got one I could do... Just a shorty but delivers Monday. I've worked little enough to have enough hrs coming off for the next 5-6 days but ended up going onduty or driving in just the right time to not get a reset in.

Squeak were you running eastbound on I40 to get there? We may have crossed paths, I ended up in Moriarty NM.

I plan on driving all night to Phoenix, got a message to pull over at 2 AM, why? we are on Elogs right? don't they automatically fix your time?

Nope, I have been comming up I-35 outta Dallas. E-logs will adjust your time, but 11 hours is 11 hours, and 14 is 14. If you started your day at noon, then 2 in the morning is as far as you can go, even after it adjusts the time to be 1 in the morning. Just because the clock goes back 1 hour, it does not entitle you to drive 12 hours. Sorry Scottie, you have to stop.
