The only nice thing I can say aboit USA was my trainer was excellent. As a solo driver they treated me like a number and never got me home earlier than five days late. Always the same story, " no freight near your house." I live 72 miles from Chicago so that story was ######## everytime.

USA was good to me. They try and work with you. You want long haul ok. I dont think they go west of the rockies though.

They do get freight to and from the Western states. Its just not near the bulk of what the company carries which is from Texas east. Most of the westbound loads go to Trainers, teams, or OO/LOs. I spent almost 2 months last year back and forth from California, Arizona, and Colorado.

I will say in the beginning it was tough, but with the fm I got now and after I proved myself, I never sit and wait for a load, I always have at least one ppln before I drop the load I am on and sometimes I have 2 ppln's.

I was hired on with USA trucking august 15th, 2012, was treatedreal good. Had to go into the hospital due to blood clots, they let me go dueto a policy about not allowing a truck to stay parked more than three days; Ido have a rehire status. Drivers need to understand that you need to treat yourdriver manager with respect. You will get your miles and be treated withrespect. I am returning back to USA trucking on the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] of January2013. They treated me great and enjoyed driving for them. I look forward

USA is a Trucking Company....Nothing else can be said...
Every person is going to tell you their bad experience with it...and there are some who are going to tell you the good..

Just remember, Run your Logs right...Run hard, Run Safe, and remember to not let some Dude or some Chick that's never ran a Truck Before...Tell you something that they want...Because you Control That Truck...and if they don't like it, There is about 5000 other Trucking Companies out there that you can go to... you basically run the same #### truck with same governed miles but with a Different Logo if you go to like US xpress, Swift,Werner, Jb Hunt, etc....

To all young drivers? get your experience in...Keep a good clean MVR, Stay aware of not hitting into stuff.. and after you've done that for about a couple of years...Go to work with a Small Trucking Company that has like maybe 20 trucks...Then you'll be making some money but you wont have the luxuries as you do with big companies...But you'll bring home about a good 1500 to 2000 a week checks..If youre a real go getter...

So don't worry about appointment times...If you can get your load there a Day early get it there...lie to the customer by saying something like its your home time and you haven't been home in 6 months...Heck, I even pull a tear jerker on them and cry if they don't take my load early..(( hehe, yeah I don't curse them out like most of you road warriors do))

Just remember, Trucking is a series of mind games...And these are college educated people you have to deal with...So by saying that, Remember they only have one thing on you and that's just a piece of paper...so they are not the smartest people in the world...Just educated and book smart...not Quick and street smart at all...Bascially they are pretty stupid if you think about it...Seriously, get into a Trucking company when you've got 2 years or more in college? What Idiot would do that?!!

Just because some Dude gets on you Qualcomm and says that he is the Fleet Manager of this Unit...and says it with Pride..Just remember to remind him from time to time that His Job isn't that important..We used to handle everything by calling up the Broker our selves...And His Job would be nothing without us creating revenue for him to have a job..And that goes for all Dispatchers who think they God's Gift to this Industry...

We Are these Trucking Companies Bosses...Its just up to you to show that backbone to them or not...And if I get fired for saying anything out of whack today? Don't Worry, I'll be in Orientation Tomorrow with someone else.. :D
That's my Attitude with all these Trucking companies :D

I was hired in with experience, so not training for me, just orientation then straight into a truck. My dispatcher is a former driver, so he understands me when I tell him I can't move because my air bags wont inflate due to a malfunctioning leveling valve. The director of my division is a former driver so he has no problem with a driver saying up front that he or she cannot take a load all the way due to hours. Safety department is a lot more laid back than other companies, just dont screw up to often.

The only thing I have to gripe about USA Truck are benefits. First year driver medical is a major medical plan, doesn't even cover preventative care. 401k is a glorified savings account, and the employee stock purchasing program is okay.
