Twinkies, HO-HOs etc will survive. Hostess may cease to exist due to the short sightedness of the union, but Walmart already markets the equivalent. Private labeling for exactly the same products. Good bye outdated union, Hello new source of stuff we love.....no matter if it is healthy or not. It all goes well with a giant glass of cold milk!:biggrin_255:

Doing a reset at the big peelot in Walcott. Picked up a load last night but can't deliever till Monday. Company says they got me an extra $200 for having to sit. Guess we'll see.

Unions were a good thing at one time but like our country's political system, it got broken!!!!!

That's true Unions had there purpose and place at one time. But get rid of them and their purpose and place will only come back again, I guarantee it.

If you get a chance to see History Channel's 'The Men Who Built America' please do, it is very interesting. Going back to the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Carnegie's, JP Morgan, Edison, Westinghouse, Tesla, etc, most lower class (there really was no middle class, only rich or poor) people worked sunup to sundown 6 days a week for a dollar. Breaking it down very simply, the unions came along and said 8 hours is worth a dollar effectively getting these people a raise of $0.50 a day for their time. Lives started improving and people started moving into the middle class.

Look at trucking-- every time there has been an industry wide raise due for drivers, either the weight limits have been raised or the length of the trailers has increased thereby reducing the total number of truckers overall so the raises are a moot point. Weight went from 73280 to 80000 now they want to bring it up to 97000. Length of trailers went from 40 foot to 48 foot to 53 foot to 57 foot, mark my words they will find a way to get 62 foot of cargo space by the time your next raise is due.

OOOPs sorry, back to your regularly scheduled programing ....

    Political opinion coming....

Given the current overburdening regulations of our fair government, the unions are doing no more good than the pages of regulations that would serve needs better if it were printed on toilet paper and put on a roll, enforced by corrupt do nothing bureaucrats who get union kickbacks to keep the status quo. I too have been watching that series on History Channel because of homeschooling. Some information has been slanted.

we had verizon for years and switched 2 yrs ago cause it was a better deal to go with sprint. but with sprint i got no signal at home service was real splotchy going up i 16 which is my main road i travel. hell i could not even get service at the talladega race last year and it was put on by sprint hence nascar sprint cup series wtf. so we went back to verizon yea its a lil more but worth it to me. i guess its depends where you are at in the country to wich provider has the best service and which phone you are using.
