DL may run legal now, but they got their rear end in trouble and got fined quite a bit in the 90's for some rather unscrupulous illegal running issues. I remember reading about their fines and such in Truckers News before that rag bowed to advertiser demands and quit printing fines and other details regarding carriers.

Overall terrible company to work for. Office employees dating drivers, the favorite drivers get the better loads. They find every way they can to take money from your paycheck and the insurance is terrible it is a no name company.

I worked for two companies that would not let you run the Ohio Turnpike or the PA Pike. They have since relaxed their policies as they soon found out all the stop and go traffic cost more in fuel, especially with a heavy load, as well as the wear and tear like you said. One other thing was that since the back roads took longer, speeding tickets increased, which not only hit the driver with points but the companies as well.
They found out they were actually losing money by running around instead of on the toll roads. Now, the only toll road that is still off limits is the Chicago Skyway. -
Does anyone have any more current information or prospective on how things are going at dick lavy trucking currently? I am interested in applying with them, however, I prefer to be cautious and get opinions ahead of time from people who know better. Thank you ahead of time!
