Ill let you in on a Secret; Rumor has it that our area is the only one right now Making Big Profits soon! I almost couldn't tell; but I am thankful for our management team. We have locked down some big accounts that exclusively use us. Everyone makes it a point to do the little things; I always notice the Cementers thanking the Company Man.

Yes, I am in Corpus Christi right now. Beautiful area by the ocean. Pretty good company. Very small which works good for them. 20 or less drivers. KW and Freightliners for trucks with sleepers. Trailers are in very good shape. Very strong PTO's load super fast. Has its dispatch issues as all companies do, but Equipment is pretty good and they actually pay 350 to 500 per day. You will go to far wells in other towns and pull avg 3 to 4 stops. Pay is on a formula. Top and bottom Gauge pay, Miles, Load and Unload pay. .38 cent per mile, gauging is 16.00, 17.50 to load, 17.50 to unload. You will definitely average 450 to 550 miles per day. Then you add 20% of total Days pay on weekdays and 30% total days pay to your wage as a daily bonus. Texas only. In Oklahoma NAM doesnt offer the 20 and 30 % daily bonus. They are in Kenedy, Victoria, Corpus, Ingleside, TX. Oklahoma and Houston, Tx. They pay twice per month. Loaded and unloaded miles are paid. Did I forget anything else? Oh, They pay your med ins 100%. Just the drivers. Hope this helps.

slowdowns, good times lay offs etc sounds like a Texas problem things dont work like that here.

Thanks, man, this does help. As we say here in Texas, "'preciate ya"!

Also check the support companies which have local work supplying these companies. Trailer repair, parts and fuel transport companies to start with.

Where many drivers get hosed working oilfield jobs, is when they work for a company that ONLY work oilfields. A good position has to be flexible.

I am hearing from contacts in Texas, that West Texas is paying more than North Texas. The problem in south Texas is the companies competing for business are expected to drive down the hourly rate soon. It's the same old problem. Since there's not much to do in West and North Texas, they still pay a bit more per hour, typically, $15 - $19 per hour depending on your experience.
