C'Kirk; Nice to read there's alot of us "newbies" that feel we are treading on thin ice..Case in point; I graduated this past August from CDL school, then we lost our home, now that we have moved into a rental home life is good, I've been searching and searching for the "right" company..My "fear" is that I've never had to leave home life and I'm just so uncertain about changing..I've been on a few interviews with trucking companies and have done their road tests, passed all their requirements, and been offered the position only to go home and think about it overnight and then turn the job down. I do have to say that I am also looking at what my wages would be also..I think thats a deal killer as well, but I'm still looking for that "elusive" company that fits my criteria or what I want ..I have always been a long time worker and I fear that if I don't get particular in looking at companies in the beginning then I'll be putting myself in a position that means I'll need to move to another company..
I just don't want to have to do that...I want to make the right choice the first time and not worry about having to jump companies after a year or two or whenever..
So, there's my "fear-factor"....you aren't alone..!

the day I stop having any fear or nerves while driving a truck, might be the day I give it up. Just when I think I've seen it all, something new pops up.

Over confidence can be your worst enemy. I say there is a real good chance that you are safer than the rest of us right now. Never stop asking questions.
CaptainKirk Thanks this. -
A little bit of fear is always good. It keeps you on your toes. Once you start getting complacent is when bad stuff happens. As for your logs, they are yours. If you need to shut down, then do so. Always do what's right, cause it is the right thing to do.

I started in 1990. I still get the chills at times. I still like knowing I get the chills at times. It slows me down and keeps me safe.
CaptainKirk Thanks this.
