Thanks! I have several offers to do this work. I have more than 11 years just hauling tankers.

I am still compiling a list. The one thing you can do is search for companies in Texas and Oklahoma. The sites in the Dakota's and Montana are mostly played out. North and West Texas are still hiring. I am headed to north Texas due to family reasons. The west Texas sites are paying better, from what I understand.

We only need 10 years or so to work so we can retire or slow down to part-time work. I may stay in general chemical transport.

Schwerman out of San Antonio Texas I was hired as a local driver So I was sold by the recruiter Everything started out okay I was involved in accident At a tire blowout I was parked beside the road and had my triangles out a car fell asleep in rear-ended me and 70 miles an hour And actually even ran over my triangles It was deemed not my fault of course But the company took my load away which was $175 And charge me a $77 load cancellation fee I continued to work for them after that And I started missing loads out of my paycheck When I complained about it I was told no they're right and I'm wrong thy would only give you 8 hours off so I had To drive home eat all the kids go to bed and drive back to work within eight hours And then when I quit they kept my last paycheck I wasn't able to get back so much fun I have a perfect driving record and that's the only accident I've ever had And it wasn't even my fault

Then tryed to get in to the oil work more but did not seem to pan out I have a wife and 3 kids that need my income so we pick Back up headed back home I been driven for way two long to deal with that BS I had a job back in vt all lined up for me and was back driven in 4 days I have never been right out
Lied to as I was in TX but then agen That was my first experience dealing with recruiters

Is there any hotshot rigs working up that way, and if so is it going pretty strong?

I would get my feet wet by driving for a company first. It isnt what you want to hear but you will learn and meet people and not make mistakes that you would going in to this green. As far as starting, you need a busn. lsn, an EIN nmbr. from IRS. Regestration of the vehicle includes tonage, IRP Reg. IFTA if your going out of Texas for any reason, a DOT/MC number among other things. Theres hoops to jump through first.
