My dh has 2 job offers. Both of them he will be based out of Denver CO.

First one is Denney Transport. They are a Denver based company, and we live about 45 miles from there. He would be out 7-10 days and home for 1 maybe 2 days. Granted there may be a few times that he will be able to come home if he is waiting for a load and has time. He is not sure on the pay at this time as the recruiter had to cut the call short due to orientation.

Has anyone heard good or bad about this company??

Second job offer is with Jim Palmer. His base will be the one in Denver. He was told he would be out 14 days and home for 3. Pay with them is 33 cpm to start (if I remember correctly).

Both are willing to let him start the end of Oct. so that he can tie up some lose ends and spend time with his daughter in VA, as the trip was already planned and paid for. One nice thing to say about both companies at least....

Anyway, we are trying to find out any info, good or bad, about either company. I have read some on Jim Palmer and have passed the info on to him. We haven't heard anything about Denney at all.

Home time is a good thing as we have 3 young kids at home, but we got used to him being gone about a month and then only home a day, 2 if we were lucky. Don't want to do that again if we don't have to as it is hard on the kids... but at the same time don't want to be told something to find out "recruiter lied". Been there, done that.. Thanks Priority for that one... sigh...

Thank you to everyone in advance!!!

    Be safe out there!!!

Although I have not driven for either I can add....Be sure and research Jim Palmer. As you just read they have had troubles BUT it looks like someone has bought them and is doing well with them. Also Jim Palmer drivers seem pretty happy out on the road. You can tell a little about a company by the attitudes of their drivers, overall. (never make eye contact with a US Express driver)...sorry couldn't resist ! Just be sure any company he decides has a bright and sunny future.

Don't go there, another Digby company. You may as well drive for Navajo or Westco or Cargo Express. All part of the Digby clan.

I worked for Denney out of Denver. They advertise on their web 60k per yr, but I only did 46k. They slowed down a little when eLogs came in use. They paid .36 cpm and most of the money was made by unloading the truck. I had about 8 to 12 stops and charged a lumper fee for each stop. Really hard to figure out what to charge. The lumpers don't really want to tell you what they charge,so you have to make a guess. Most places will not let you use the fork lift, they give you a pallet jack instead. You can hire a lumper and Denney will pay you back. I was gone for about 9 days and home a day and a half. I drove and delivered mostly at night until I was unloaded and then went to days when I picked up my back haul to go home. The health insurance was $ 1434.19 for a family per month. Denney paid $ 250.00 your bill was $ 1184.19 per month. I did not buy their insurance.

I'd go to Houg or FRE (Furniture Row Express)if I was going Otr. If you gonna get .33 cpm might as well go apply to Western and drive some bad A trucks then JP even though they got nice equipment too but western is way nicer. Houg and Western haul alot of beer so getting home is alot better. Drove for Houg for a short stint you can go back and forth and get home alot if you choose due to beer coming out of Co.
