The room in the baby pete's suck. Most tolerate them, but no one likes them. I was lucky enough to get a T660.

No disrespect to anyone here but my experience was just a request.... USX / Arnold / Linkamerica, that right there should clue you in. The so called Arnold driver lounge in Jacksonville FL is a disgusting nasty s###hole. I can't believe I even made it to day 2 of their orientation. I was told they were not going to be able to hire me on day 2 because I specified/requested a male/nonsmoker/white for a trainer. Ok so maybe that was politically incorrect to some people, but I was only doing what was asked of me, and being honest. When questioned about it, I just explained that I only objected to being on a truck for 4 weeks with a black man. They explained they couldn't hire me unless I changed that on the paperwork, so I did so! Well an hour later I was called Back into the safety office and told by some very rude, crude, female hater, I guess supervisor named Gene that said no if's and's or but's, they could not hire me because of what I wrote. I explained how I changed my mind and filled out a new paper and will just suck it up, and he stated "we do not accept altered paperwork". Excuse me but Isn't using white-out, altering paperwork? Everyone in class was using white-out! So, then I asked him if he were a white female trainee, would he want to be on the road, in a truck alone with, a strange male trainer black or white? And his response (very intelligently by the way) was, "I'm not a female". I mean, a slap on the wrist I expected and suck it up and move on. Well, I was told to get my things and go home. Any other discussion, I would have just been beating a dead horse. However, my experience with the unprofessionalism of this company just left a bad taste in my mouth and a letter will go to the CEO.

If it were my call, I would not have male/female training teams, period. It's a risk for the trainee, trainer, and the company. BTW, Arnold does have a white female trainer. I saw her and her rookie in Ft Worth last month. I spoke with a old white male trainer in GP recently who complained that the company (and his wife) wouldn't allow him to train a younger black female. My Wife has met him at GP and calls him a stalker due to him always running his mouth and seeking attention from females. It's too bad race had to be made into an issue by the company. I don't know if they even have any black trainers. Sadly, this is the state of affairs we find ourselves in today in a formerly FREE Republic. I'm sure you and I remember the oath we took when we enlisted.

Thank you for your words richieryan! I appreciated that! By the looks of the place, I really don't want to be associated there anyway. Because of shell shock from 2003 with Swift, trainer/trainee/team trainee....I was just trying to avoid what I experienced there. OMG, talk about awful. And yes I sucked it up and dealt with it, and it was obvious Arnold could care less about potential employees....oh excuse me, steering wheel holders.

I'm new to the forums and trucking and wow there's a lot of color you all are throwing all over. Does it matter what color someone is? Are you saying african americans aren't good enough to train you? Good lord!
-
Oh good lord! No I am not!! Just forget about it OK! All I said was what was written a few posts back. It's me and I am not changing for anyone. I've found a better job and it doesn't matter anyway!!

Well iam not surprised you had too deal with that.
I went thru the 17th orientation they had which was last one before xmas and i was very disatisfied with their class they had there and yes some were roudy ppl she had problems with
but i agree they were using white out quite a bit in that class also.I had a driver sitting next too me and he had too leave too do another finger stick for his blood sugar while he was gone she told me too do his paperwork so too keep up i was using whiteout on his too but i thought boy this is one pitiful class when other ppl have too corect another person paperwork and hes gone.
So that night i just called wife too come pick me up because i saw the redflag on this so disorganized company it was funny.
Franny best of luck too ya but you made the right move by going else where. keep us posted.
