I don't know if you have tried or not. when you want your truck to be idled for more than 5 minutes or may be for whole night. Try this, just park your truck with with trailers brakes on NOT parking brakes. in bob tail also do not apply parking brakes but make sure park where it wont roll.
-
Not totally true. I'm at Crete, and have a 2011 Cascadia with this system. We can idle for anywhere from one to two hours (depending on the mood of the truck, I guess!), and the system works well. Make sure you have fresh batteries (I just had all eight changed not long after I got the truck last year). Keep the bunk curtains closed and you'll be quite comfortable.
Now, SNI.....they're another story. They're continuing their downhill slide, IMHO. Making changes without fully understanding (or caring) the full affect their actions will have on their drivers. That's why I bailed last January.
All this said, I'd still rather have a traditional APU.peterd Thanks this. -
Just got a QC message that we lost Birmingham drop yard and they closed Roanoke terminal. Also said West Memphis is not going to be rehiring maintenance techs at this time. So Safety dept and parking only. Not good!
-
Did they only send it out to certain trucks. My QC hasn't beeped since 11 when I got my load header?
Thomas0810 Thanks this. -
Yea I heard about roanoke a few days ago. First I heard about birminham.drop yard. But I never once went there in over avyear with usa. Most people probably didnt and rent fir space not being used is pointless. Roanoke did very little maintenance compared to other yards. Thats why I was told it was closed. I know I tried not to go there. The guys were jerks and were never in a rush to do anything. Two hours before close and told me they would not change a bad trailer tire on a hot load. Oh well I was dropping it anyways. Sent a message to breakdown and dispatch. I guess it was fixed later.
West memphis still has a few mechanics and i heard they are still doing tbas and service (oil changes)
Guess ill keep my ear to the ground just in case. I park ny rig at west memphis. If it closes I have no where to park. Luckily there are a lot of truck companies in the area
Sent from somewhere out there -
Hmmmmmm. Keep those fuel tanks full.
-
yeah i have not received any message on the qualcomm all day regarding Birmingham drop yard , or West Memphis, or Roanoke.Received preplan, and update hours message and thats been it for the day
-
I knew Roanoke was on the chopping block but thought that they would keep it due to valley proteins dedicated truck being stationed there. Might not be the last terminal to go. This new guy is cutting out all hemmoraging and trying to regroup.

What do you think ran the fuel pump and the ignitor?
