Slow winter?

thought that bug was on my computer,lol how did you do that?

 

your company has nice equipment.What company is that?Can't see what's on the trl.

 

Been rolling non stop until home time and always have a load out, some short runs, but mostly long runs. We had a dead time on New years when alot of drivers were sitting a day out at one of the terminals, but I had a load that day.

 

It is just a code put into my signature.


A lot of the loads have to do with where you happen to be in the country, what your company hauls/will haul, and how much they will haul it for. I was in the SE/mid-Atlantic/Midwest for January, and because of that, my miles suffered. People in the West/NE did better because of their location to some of our bigger lanes. My company does not haul flowers...or any type of flora, so that is out. We don't do hardly any big slaughter houses (i.e: IBP, Tyson, National, Purdue, etc) which leads me into: We don't haul cheap freight like the mega carriers do. They would rather have their trucks sit for a day than haul a load they're going to break even/lose money on just to keep a truck moving. We also had normal go-to shippers that had no freight to move.

 

Slow? Hell, we have more brokers calling us for trucks than we have trailers. We're swamped as well, and nothing's cheap either.

 

Been slow for me set most of the week in California. I was able to get 3 resets in 8 days. 1st week from home time-1900miles 2nd week, 300miles and this week I finally have been moving but looking like only 2500 unless I get another short load before cut off Wednesday. Hopefully things will be picking up soon. Won't hold my breath.

 

I drive for a company called Pacific Coast Evergreens Inc. in Port Orchard WA. We have only four trucks that go over the road and one owner operator. We are one of the biggest floral green wholesalers in the US. We haul our own product outbound and usually bring broker loads back to Washington or Oregon to get the trucks back home.

I was lucky enough to get the newest of the three Volvos we have. I have been trying to get the owner to put APUs on the trucks, but no luck so far. I hate to idle, but did not have much of a chance on the last two trips when temperatures ranged from 80 to -6.

 

Been slow for me so far. Run 4 to 5 days, take a reset, run 4 to 5 days and take a reset. Putting in apps to other places now.

 

Busy out of TX but once I get outta here been a struggle all month. Doesn't help my truck was in the shop for 10 days but the 2 weeks I worked were pathetic. Had a hard time getting a load out of ID to TX. That has never happened before.

 

Freight has been available, but most of it hasnt paid what it needs to. Last week I went out of WI on my normal run with only 18 pallets on compared to 30-34 which is normal for this time of year. Broker freight is still pretty "iffy" depending on so many different factors.
