Bad areas like Texas. I was offered a long load down there for 1.60 yesterday. My coordinator refused before I had a chance to. I looked ahead to see the outbound flatbed loads in Texas to be very slim pickins.
whoopNride Thanks this. -
I've been down here in Texas a week trying to get out. Though I have been running freight around texas. But Now time to get out of Texas.
SHC Thanks this. -
Might as well work on your tan and polish your truck too!SHC Thanks this.

Here's this week's numbers from Mon. morning to Mon. morning:
Gross: $3156.12
1739 miles w/235mi, or 14% DH
$1.82 all miles avg.
est. net revenue: $900
Got stuck one day for Mardi Gras, but other than that pretty good considering I was leaving the house in FL making my way to the MidWest, my home away from home. And, no, I'm not satisfied. -
I think this might be the case.... running to OKC for $1.78 mile is plain ridiculous. You should easily see over $2.25 mile for a run to OK from that area
As for my week, I have 9'5" wide set of fuel tanks going to Houston from Ohio paying me $3.46 mile plus they supplied the permits. I grabbing a load of drill pipe coming back to Ohio for $2.02 mile and this is all to the truck rates after the LS cut........ I have no idea why anyone would go to texas for anything less????? -
When I get into Texas, and can't get a load back to the Chicago area, i do the same thing and run around the state till something comes up. There are some pretty good intra-state rates if you work it right. No point in sitting in Baytown with the other 200 Mercer/LS drivers lolwhoopNride and blacklabel Thank this.

SHC and rickybobby Thank this. -
Oh I'm sure!!! Heck, u could even hit a RV park for a week if you wanted too.
I really need to get an APU in my truck as idling is killing me in fuel. I plan on finding some deals at MATS and getting one by April. -
Now rocky, remember......according to some on here that drink koolade, not gonna say what kinda of koolade it is, they will tell you......"well its all your fault, poor planning, your coordinator sucks, you went to bad areas, you didnt have the right equipment for the job to allow you to find bettter stuff, your figuers are inccorrect, you didnt pray enough, this happens every year, its winter time, your a cry baby, you dont even own a truck, you drank too much pop and not enough koolade, your shoes werent tied, your a rookie, your a know it all, you dont know anything at all".......ummmm those are just a few of the reasons they will come up with as to why you didnt make money...........
and yes, i wouldnt be half close to satisfied with those numbers friend.Last edited: Feb 15, 2013
