@ the J on I29 Sioux Falls, SD.
snagged a mac 30 load heading down to Scottsville, KY, dollar gen load. 29k, 900mi best of the 3 up here, was actually surprised there were load offerings..
anyone been to this dollar gen dc? can ya park onsite?
kansas us75 was slushy n icy early am, and i was cut off by a black kia, no plates, and i slid into a semi (no pun intended) jack-knife. lucky for me i avoided hitting anything as i just slid, watching my trailer come around on me. this idiot passed me slammed on his breaks infront of me and turned left into a clinic of some sort. the car coming south just made her right turn into the same drive as my trailer was sliding into her lane..
i got everything stopped now, cars, big trucks, ohhh yea the sheriff, too..im shaken, but ok.. sheriff asks me if i need help, naww i got it, but can you help me get that driver right there, pointing at the kia..
long story short.. i filed a complaint, had a witness and the guy was sited for wreckless edangerment, speeding in un safe conditions, passing in a no passing zone and something else..i think they were going to tow him....? i had to get the truck off the side of the road as his deputy asked me to as the sheriff was writting up that dipsiht.. i calmy walked up to the man and asked him to go to church and give thanks to god he didnt kill anyone today when he pulled the most idiotic move ive ever seen in my life... i then asked him to by a bycycle and left..
please be safe on them roads guyMoosetek13, fr8monkey, Bigdubber and 1 other person Thank this. -

yeah.. first security gate said i was a live load and i went to the second security shack and he said trailer was already loaded. seems they don't know whats going on. this load was already late for p/u and delivery when i got the preplan. the delivery place put 5,5 hrs late but took me anyways. another swift driver who was at the c&h place after me, showed up about 1/2 or an hour late and they're making him wait till tomorrow. place is in stockton.

I wanted to explain some more detail from my last post why I wanted the extra time on that load.
First of all it was 576 (gps says 591) miles 01 empty but I was 30 miles away at a truck stop getting new steers put on so I knew it would be too tight for a straight 11 hour run.
I emptied out then ran to the TA to get some new Michelins steers put on because the Michelin drives are performing so well. I had about 6 hours left when I got there, one preplan came thru pick up the load about 6 hours later live load. Big No for that one. Then this preplan came thru that I really wanted because it delivers on Wednesday which is the pay period cutoff. Problem was to get it I needed to rock on right then and there and run full throttle the whole way to meet their delivery time. Discovered the delivery could be as late as 2200 cool.
Ordered up my tires, went out and walked the dog so those guys could work without me hovering. I came back some time later and was looking at my new tires, I asked where the little arrows were that indicate the direction of the steer? I knew something was wrong because I had told them I wanted the (whole bunch of letters and numbers xaz3+ or whatever) and the tires were xr-1 or something like that. That's when this other guy walks up and tells his buddy that the tires are for trailers, not rated for steer position. So they had to bust 'em apart and discovered they actually don't have any Michelin steers in stock, but would I please buy their Bridgestones? Fine whatever, by now my clock had all disappeared so just did the full 10 there. Ended up with only about 3 hours of sleep.
So jammed over and got the load about 1900 my time and drove til about 2300 my time, found a nice rest area and took a 2 hour nap. Got up and drove about 4 more hours and stopped for breakie, heard on the CB there was a bad wreck about an hour up the road I needed to go on, so I logged sleeper for 8 hours there (got a naggy message from DM about why I didn't drive all night and get the load there in one shot) and rocked it in an hour early still for delivery. Bonus was I still had 2 hours left and energy to go find a legit parking spot after. My biggest pet peeve out here is a night time delivery, bone tired and minutes left on the 11/14 after a delivery trying to find parking -
I routinely message my DM and ask for the REAL window either before I accept the load or after I accept the load and KNEW it was a Plus1 load when I took it.dptrucker Thanks this.

I'm at Disneyland with my family!

Hard to believe how easy and stress free the drive over in my wife's Explorer was compared to the same route in my truck. -
