Yes I have my own numbers... My problem is I can't make money off any off my trucks drivers are in. It cost me around $1.65/mi to brake even anything over that the company makes

I have lost so much work over the last two years it's not funny. Just last week I lost out on some oversize runs 10 wide 6 loads going to KS and the same six loads comming back 780 miles one way first load would drop than return back for a 2nd after that I would have a return haul. I told them $2,250 a load that's $3/mi a broker come in and said $1,850 going and $1,500 coming back that's $7,000 less that what I priced.

I pay my drivers what they should 25% of what the truck grosses and I take taxes out. What hurts me is all the drivers are use to not having taxes pulled out there check so like I posted Friday just my check was $200 less than what I would get paid off a 1099

Also I pay someone for all the paper work and run the show book loads ect she makes $33,k a year so after tires fuel insurance and everything else I don't make but say $10,k a year profit not worth it to me.

If I could stay over $2/mi for my all miles I'd be in the money but freight is just cheap. JB hunt has a flyer on the wall at one of my customers showing a few lanes most say $1.65+ fuel I think that's nuts but there making $.50/mi or more by screwing drivers I own all this but because I'm fare I can't make but $.10 or so a mile

All the mercer guys can't afford Internet anymore all the cheap freight there moving......LOL!!

 

My load tomorrow pays $1875 for running 603 miles.

Ok keep going tell us more I can haul $3/mi freight any day of the week but it goes to west Texas and end up dead heading back to Houston!

Kind of funny that not to long ago you started a thread about how cheap all the freight off of load boards was, and you weren't making any money, and now all of a sudden your making all kinds of money off those load boards and Mercer is just a bunch of cheap freight haulers? If you want any kind of credibility around here get your stories straight.

 

NO NO ......you have it all wrong I have not moved a load board load in almost a month reason being is freight on them are too cheap for me to haul. What I'm saying is the load boards have BETTER PAYING freight that what mercer has to offer and way more of it!!!

 

soooo.........was that with the mercer discount?
