Speedco is off of Mercer's inspection list.
I think he'll do well based out of Cinci, but he'll need to know how to run the board. A good coordinator can run his truck for him if that makes it easier.

I've had windshield replaced twice and I didn't wait nearly that long. Both times they had people out in under an hour. When a bunch of us had tires stolen a couple months ago I had tires put on the next day then sent in receipts. I was told they would be pro-rated which is normal practice. Two months later when I had my mail sent up from NC to PA I had the insurance check. I'm so accustomed to things with insurance taking way to long to settle I hadn't even thought about it. The check was dated and postmarked the day after I sent the paperwork in so it probably arrived five days after the incident, paid in full not pro-rated, and no deductible. Can't complain about the insurance at all. Had all batteries stolen in NC and they settled that one promptly although I didn't look at the dates that time. Thought I was going to have a claim from putting a rock through somebody's windshield when I picked up all kinds of equipment at a muddy/rocky job site. Gravel that must have been in between items came out and broke the window. Claims said they'd handle it, there wasn't anything I could do about it and I wasn't charged for any of the damage, or any negative marks on safety. Plenty of companies would have made me pay everything and then ding my safety rating probably as "preventable accident" and of course screw up the DAC report. ####, almost finished a whole pitcher of KoolAid again.
Blind Driver and herfinharry Thank this. -
what took the windshield the amount of time for me was , i live in the boonies about 80 miles from any good size city and no one had the glass in stock, and they came to my house and did it with a 80 mile road call to do it. no bad actually, and you know as i do there far more to the story on that other jokers version of events
just read his posts, then close your eyes and imagine how he conducted business when he dealt with someone, i bet it was a real pleasure.SHC Thanks this. -
Mercer paid for the windshield, tires, and batteries? Seriously?

No, the insurance that we purchase through mercer. But what's so nice is we call our claims department, talk to people we know, and they handle everything from there. I forget who the insurance is with, but I have no complaints at all about it. (slurping/drooling KoolAid). I think the policy allows for two windshields per year. If you were referring to the rock(s) that damaged the car windshield, they took care of all that. The glass services will come out to wherever you are, as skateboardman said and he lives right down the road from BFE. It is in our and their best interest to get the glass replaced ASAP.
I had a windshield crack years ago when I turned on the defrosters, heard this "tink" and saw the line in the glass traveling slowly across. It was less than two inches from the bottom of the passenger side w/shield. Two hours later, in IL I think, state trooper whips around makes a U-turn and gives me a ticket for it. Meanwhile one guy at the company I was at had his drivers windshield shattered and it looked like a giant spider web. That was seven years ago, last time I saw him about a year ago he still hadn't fixed it and no tickets. How any inspector passes it I don't understand. Some people just never get caught. -
Parked next to a mercer guy last night in north central iowa. Really nice pete and step deck. Was a low number in md 8,000's. Decal on the side 2006 truck rodeo champion. Should have visited with him but didnt want to botber him

You should"ve bothered him. The last guy that bothered me, ended up getting me a recrutiment bonus. Guess I should've talked trash about Mercer but had to much koolaid.
The problem I see with Mercer trailers is they are so heavy. If I pulled one, I'm not sure I could haul anything but insulation.
Last I heard, those great dane trailers weigh in around 14K. And Mercer expects everyone signing on to be able to scale 45KSHC Thanks this. -
This is what I was thinking I get $2.25+ fuel on most lanes from my customers so I was thinking if I can pull them numbers mercer could also. After there cut I was thinking most there loads would pay $2/mi or more to the truck.
My point is you could go almost anywhere else and pull the numbers you do with them. When I was at acme I was getting $3-$4/mi to the truck on loads was home six days a week and made $6,k a week. I was just sick of always being in a rush and never knew what you were doing the next day.
I was trucking six years before I ever knew what a load board was, I wish I did I could of made way more money back than. I remember going to laurel,Mt for $8,400 and dead headed all the way back.
I'm trying to talk him into going to LS but he said nope he ant running a EOBR. LS has 10 times the freight at better rates no matter what anyone thinks. -
I wish I could make $6k a day. I could deal with being in a rush.

No I worked them days I'm just saying I was home every night and not living in a truck
