At least you know why you say "Y'all put some extra cheese on that sammich"!
It sure is a long shot. He's either nearing retirement or is retired already. Does your mother have a Facebook account? If no, maybe create one on her behalf and post on it she is looking for Mustang. Google and facebook does some wonderful things.
My older brother who is 56 a couple years ago found a daughter he didn't know he had. Right after HS graduation he had a fling and went in the military shortly after never to return to PA except for family visits. 2011 he searched for that woman and found her on Facebook. Through that he found she had a daughter born 9 months after that night.
She looks a lot like him. He then talked with her and they all met in Gatlinburg, TN last summer. Life has some amazing twists sometimes. Never give up, you might get lucky. If you knew the trucking company would be a help as you could ask someone there. I could get you a phone number if you knew that.
