believe it or not I couldn't buy a darn load out of chicago monday oscar. CHI had about 30 loads posted. all different loading cities but they were actually all the same place in hammond I think. tried to get three different loads form them only to wait hours and then be told the cust wasn't calling them back so they took me off it. then it happened again with a different agent so I said heck with it and grabed a load of fence out of IN. boy was THAT a mistake!! 9.5 hrs to load, they dumped half the load off the side of my trl. they threw my tarps at least, it was advertised as 4" tarp and the thing was 9' tall. but when I got to buffalo with it I had to climb it in the snow and 30mph winds because my tarps snagged every pieve of wire. shredded my tarps too. Now I sit here again with no load. I told my coordinator I'm done trying it here way and she better get me off the east cost.
And a positive note I have 4 people interest in my truck I just have to get it home to start showing itSHC Thanks this. -
sweet looks like truck paper is not what it's made out to be!SHC Thanks this.

I had a few calls from TP but nobody ever showed up to look at it. I get more sales calls then anything from people wanting to sell it for me for a feeBAYOU Thanks this.

That's great news on the truck interest Wideload!!!
As for freight, it all seems a bit sketchy right now. I got a good load up to Ft. McCoy but have to DH 145 miles to my next run. It's only 16x3x1 and 350# going to Indy, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to find something to stick on the deck with it. And these 22' 26k pound loads paying LTL rates are a joke. -
I never had a desire to haul fence of any type. why did it need to be tarped?
-
my advice is DONT. . . EVER. I for one will not be going back. why is anything tarped? because they say it has to be.
they told me they get carriers all the time who come in and haul one load and never come back. they said they don't like to haul fence. I told her it had little to do with the fence and everything to do with the 9hr load time and idiot forklift drivers. ALthough the fence sucked too. doesn't stay tight, moves constantly. the more you tighten it the more it smooshes out sideways. I am not kidding here when I say by the time I got to buffalo that load was wider then my oversize last week. I loosened my tarps and let them balloon out so you couldn't see it so muchBlind Driver Thanks this. -
and of course when I got up here the only load around was greased rod. That's what I need, a nightmare load after a bad dream
Blind Driver Thanks this. -
Was it chain link fence Wideload ? I hauled one load of that crap many years ago. It was double stacked,no tarp.
Never Again !!!!Blind Driver Thanks this. -
yes chain link fence rolls 80% the rest was preassembled gates and poles. nasty stuff, wish someone had told me.
Actually I knew chain link is a mess. my neighbor owns a wrecker co and he has a yard full of the stuff he scraped up out of a ditch somewhere. this said 4" tarp so i figured it was something else since every load of chain link i saw was 13' tall. well it was 13' tallwhoopNride Thanks this.
