Knight Transportation.............Can't Do it.....

lol! Professional Trucker is yanking your chain! He actually makes good money running OTR as I did too. As a local I work harder now than I did when I was OTR. Plus I make more than 35K a year. Last year I made 50k between two different dedicated accounts. Yes. You could say that I am happy working here. Again It is what you make of it. If your lazy and want everything handed to you, then it may not work out. It you work hard and take it on the chin once in a blue, then like me, you too can be content and happy and make a decent living at it.

 

Just not at Knight. You'll be chasing empties, loads that have already been picked up and then sitting until the next day. When you finally do find an empty they will have you go to where you were supposed to pick up the day before. Not the load that was already picked up, the load they gave you after that fiasco. The customer will "work you in" since your late. Knight is truly run by some of the stupidest people I have ever encountered in my life, unbelievable stuff.

 

I don't know about that do you know how many Sprinters I've seen with 400
or 500k miles? Lots of them. I remember one guy got over a million miles out of his Econoline van. Plus look at how much less expensive upkeep on a van is VS a semi tractor let alone a trailer too. I can get four new Michelin tires for my van for $700 while one semi tire costs what $400-$450? Look at oil changes $35 for a van VS $250 on semi. If you run a good oil you can easily go 7k miles between changes.

Then there is initial cost a brand new E150 costs $28k, semi? Only problem I see Is where do you sleep if you're loaded?

 

that sounds great....but remember....you yourself said you are going BROKE (in your response to me) or am I seeing things that aren't there on the screen? My math must be wrong....I always thought some money was better than NO MONEY.....and if you say you aren't really "that dry" than why not invest in yourself and get your endorsements? (So you can get closer to getting hired at the pay you want)

 

If you have been taking drug screens...then have you been backing out afterwards??...a company is not going to eat the expense of drug screen on someone who they aren't going to hire.

 

Brother, ill put it to you this way. Every otr company I've been at has been "no bueno". I discovered these guys are ALL the same but with different styles of doing things and how they treat their drivers. I've been on the road for four years. Here's knight.

Always rolling and doing something.
paychecks every week? Yes.
detention paid? Always.
Bonuses, truth or fiction? Truth.
driver treatment? Excellent.
E-logs? Just like paper logs. -dont ask how, too long of an explaination.

I "average " 700 weekly.

 

Noooooooooo the O/P would never back out of a job, remember- he said he was going "dry" so im sure those companies after spending money on a drug screen- just decided they didn't want him anymore.

 

35 bucks adds up when have to do the service's more often, good oil or not, ya still gonna run mad miles and that means more often visits and the down time for them. Tires for van wears out faster then the tires on a big rig. Hotel bills start racking up pretty quick, the miles on a car's odo don't mean it hasn't had parts wear out and good luck pushing them any further past that 500k. Not to mention theft of the sprinter can now be done by any auto thief, where as takes some know how to steal and drive away a big rig
