best truck load boards

I think we ALL agree with you BUT the fact of the matter is, people have been saying the same thing as you for years. Say "no" to cheap frieght but people still haul it cause people need to feed there families. Things need to change and get rates back up but I dont know if it will ever change.

 

That only apply to those without negotation skill and willing to haul cheap and heavy. Most of the loads I haul for them range around $3 a mile into a area where I can get Loads out of at $2.50 a mile and dont ask where some may already know but please dont post it them BFOO are waiting to call and do it for a buck

Feed their families? LOL. Its the MAIN reason there is a flood of used trucks for sale across this country. Sucker born every minute. All u have to do is look around, I and lots others like me have been saying NO to cheap freight for many years and have been doing very well. It just takes determination and the guts to tell them NO. U are running a business and should treat it as such. But I guess as long as they keep hauling the cheap freight, that means those of us that do say NO can still get the good rates then. O/O's that haul the cheap freight are their own worst enemies to their business. Cant blame anyone but themselves for their own demise. Be safe out there drivers.

Agreed I never took cheap loads from them.The highest pay was over $4/mile average $2.75.If you don't negotiate don't deal with brokers.

 

Yeah buddy, this one's getting good. Hahaha, I always make sure I get at least 3X the market rate in any area. Cause I got supermodified negotiating powers, makes everyone want to pay me more even with thousands of cheaper trucks at their disposal. Yeah riiiight.
You can preach about cheap freight all you want,but,everyone who knows anything also knows the market rate for a given area and have no reason to pay more in most cases. There are some exceptions. But for the most part it is what it is and you can sit around till Christmas waiting to change the world if you like. It won't happen.

 

Cheap freight is simply a term used for freight that shippers know you have to take in order to get out of a area. What's sad, is that years ago cheap freight or (back hauls) used to be a option or a nice option if you wanted to earn some extra money. Now, they have become a way to simply move freight cheaply. Of course common sense tells you that it cost the same to move freight one way as it does another way. Cheap freight does not mean you get cheap diesel or cheap food on that same trip. You pay the same. It used to be for those being paid by the trip that you got more your trip down so it all averages out in the end to decent rates. These days, even the good freight does not make up for all that cheap stuff. Eventually your average begins to shrink. I myself would rather buy my fuel to a place where the rate is what I need then haul someone's freight for possible fuel costs. Even that is a stretch with some of the freight. I look at it this way, I provide a service and I need to make so much for that service to pay my operating costs, pay myself and provide for my family. If that load cannot do that then I don't want it. Not to mention the other problems with cheap freight. Lousy, difficult, heavy and long delay's that typically come with that freight. If the shipper is too cheap to pay a good rate. What incentive do you think that shipper will have to load you properly, on time and under gross? The freight I haul that pays the best, is the easiest to deal with too. CH Robinson is mentioned here, and I have hauled freight in a pinch for them. Usually in Laredo where live loads are hard to find. CH Robinson of course knows this and that's why live load freight they offer is cheap and many times heavy. But it does get hauled by someone doesn't it? Cheap freight goes away when capacity shrinks and truck availability goes away. Until our economy really picks up or capacity shrinks. Some areas will continue to experience those cheap freight blues.
