Ironically, as much and as often as "safety first" is drummed into our heads, I neglected the safety glasses. Hard hat...nah. But I did wear my work boots...never know when the door might fall off the sawhorses!

Be ready for the neighborhood cats, raccoons and opossums to make regular nightly visits to the food bowl.

Nope. Cat door goes from kitchen into the garage. I've heard the horror stories of pet doors that have direct access to the outside. No thanks! Even the guy at Lowe's was telling me of his experience some years ago when I told him what I was doing.
I lived in an older mobile home back in 1985. Every night, the cat from next door (a beautiful grey and white long hair) would sneak into my trailer through the bathroom via the hole cut in the floor to accommodate the sink drain. Had to start closing my bathroom door because anything I tried to block the way would be of little consequence to him. -
patty was convinced that the cats would never learn to push thru the door
but one lil boy thought it was a new toy and ran in and out for hours
while the oldest dignified lady had to be coerced with a can of tuna on the otherside

Eaton, we got into the upper 30's, maybe 40, this afternoon, and a lot of places have already dried out. The boss called a couple hours ago to let me know the highways and streets around Lenexa were in good shape, and see how mine were here. I told him the State Hwy past my house looked to be dry, and I didn't see any reason I should have problems getting in at 0430 in the morning. He sounded relieved...LOL. He'll go in early when needed, but doesn't really like it. He knows I like getting in early once in a while just so I can get out early.
My thanks go out to MODOT & KDOT, once again.

Hey Teddy_bear, I read your posting about your visit to doctor, your new diet and your loved one... thought about my old dad... he loves to eat the food that he likes, pork, fat, sweets... and he always said that eating is one of the best things in life. Despite of his diabetes, he never really followed doctor's diet and consequence was his brain stroke over 2 years ago that put him on a wheelchair and lost the mobility of his left side...
But he still tries to eat what he likes.... very stubborn old man... Stay with your new diet. There are too many choices of food in this country and it is very very tempting to overdose on unhealthy food. Hope your love one follows you. But like Big Don said, you can't force anybody to do what they don't want... Take care of yourself girl. Have a nice restful nite.

Very smart man. What's the point of living life if you're not enjoying it?Rocks Thanks this.

Well....I am hoping to start training the cats tomorrow. However, first I must figure out how....an hour after installation, and before being used....the thing can start hanging up on one side! I'm guessing just closing the door several times has caused something to become ####eyed....might just have to bring out the sandpaper in the morning and make a few minor adjustments.
