    i did find it last night on craigs list but i also said the truck shown has been gone for 2 years,,,, maybe i am destined to be a l/p driver then it would be 4 bob's

    Thanks, I hope I'm wrong about this and if I am I would be the first one on here to say so. This was a good company when I arrived 4 years ago, I still think it is today, I just hope a few things get straightened out before too long.

    Thanks. I might use this blog as a venting tool sometimes, but nothing beats dialogue. More gets accomplished by dialogue, not by a poor attitude which I don't have.

    I am getting unloaded here in Florence NJ......yet again. I got to the shipper in Belle Glade at 4:45pm Saturday and had the pleasure of spending 6.5 hours waiting for my lettuce to precool. I left there at midnight and made it to St George SC to take my 10. I got up and left at 2pm yesterday. It was raining when I left and rained right up to the VA state line. At this point it was now dark, there was no more spray coming off the tires of the big trucks, and the four wheelers started to dance and roll off the side of the road and into the ditches. This was my cue to go to bed. I made it to the Davis T/S and decided to wake up at 3am and finish the last 355 miles. It was snowing real hard all the way to here. I got around DC and Baltimore without any issues, stopped for a coffee in Paulsboro then left with 45 miles to go and 2 hours to get there for my appointment time. I got here 5 minutes late because of a fatality dump truck accident on 295 that had the whole road closed. It's things like this that put's everything else in perspective. When I saw the truck and how the guard rail went through the drivers side windshield I said a little prayer and thanked God I have another day here.

    It was a very hectic day and a half home. My wife is doing all she can taking care of her favorite uncle that's in the hospital. It's tough when we get old. Not that it makes it any easier, but we've been through this numerous times since we got married. We lost her dad, my dad, her grandmother and her mom in the last 14 years. When a crisis arises like this I realize why I married this women. She's so good when the do do hits the fan. If there's anyone you want on your side during a crisis it's my wife Lesli.

    Thanks for the flowers. I got here to the Petro in Bordentown at 7pm, got settled in and emptied this head of mine with anything to do with trucking. With what my wife and I are dealing with with her uncle in the hospital the last thing I needed was anything truck related to occupy space in my head. Today? Different story.

    Ok here I go again...

    Have you seen the price on your fuel tickets? What is your trucks top speed? Keeping our govenors set at 67.5 adds a lot to the fuel bill so I am pretty sure our raises are going into our tanks. Could you make your route work at 62? If you could, then you should negotiate to have your truck turned down and you keep 2/3 of the fuel savings.

    Please..........you think maybe these companies could grow some balls and raise the rates a little? Oh wait, I forgot, they are at the mercy of the shipper. You get what you pay for Christine. Don't tie my raise in with everyone else. My run is the highest paying freight we have, this time of year it is just as good coming out of Fl as going in. And to add another twist to your statement, if they were so concerned about fuel mileage, why do they have me driving a 13 year old box down the highway getting 4.2 miles to the gallon on a good day when they have 20 empty areodynamic trucks sitting in Pittston. One other thing, from a company aspect of fuel, they make a killing off of high priced fuel via the FSC that is imposed on their freight rates. The diaper account we had paid almost 700 dollars in FSC, I only used 400 dollars in fuel on those trips, where did the other 300 go? No part of it was shared with me in the form of a raise, was it shared with you? This run I've been on the last 9 months pays 4.75 p/m, plus the 2 pallets of cream cheese pays an additional 1400 dollars for a total revenue of 6600. All that for a 1275 mile trip. They have the right to make anything they want, I have the right to ask for a raise based on my merit, not based on a company as a whole. When I am turned down for a raise based on what I have done with this route, the safety portion I bring to the table, it affects me personally, to the point of looking at other employment opportunities.

    Well said JohnBoy but we both know most companies do not think that way if they give you a raise they have to give everyone one. Sad isn't it.
