Since this is the forum for posting comments about GOOD companies,I will word my comment like this. McGriff Transportation based in Cullman AL, has a terminal in Jax. If you want to work for a good company,go somewhere else.

I drive out of Jacksonville. I run flatbed for Roehl and love it. We share a yard here with Star and Gypsum Express mainly, so you might look into them. Raven is a great company from what I hear, but won't look at student or inexperienced drivers. ComCar has a terminal in Jacksonville and all of their companies (CCC, CTL, CT, WSE) hire new drivers. I see a few TMC around here and they have a terminal in Live Oak. Stay away from Cypress, bad news. You may consider getting on with Publix in their distribution center and moving up to driver when you have your time in. They are a top notch company all around. Hope this helps.

I spoke with a representative from ComCar who had no trouble getting me a position with one of their companies. Only problem was they were paying an unrealistic low mileage rate. I believe it averaged out to somewhere around $29K-$30K a year.
