Amen to that! I am a fairly new driver, and I don't go over the speed limit for nobody! My life is more important to me than getting some where a few min early. The world can ride on my bumper, but I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize my life or my CDL. I like your saying, "The speed limit is just that.... a limit, not a requirement". My trainer used to tell me that all the time! :yes2557:

The best part of going thru that area Sunday afternoon was listening to all the whining on the CB while I was cruising at the speed limit on US70. Went WB from the 216 and back on at the 197, took total of about 10 minutes longer than if the construction wasn't there on I-40.

AR Highway Dept even posts a map for you.

I remember that, it was Wednesday night/Thursday morning wasn't it? I was driving from Clarksville, AR (Exit 58 ) already having a horrible day. Met a guy to swap a trailer a lot later than usual, got past Carlisle (MM 183) forgot to take the exit after seeing the sign. I swear we only moved a mile or two within three or four hours. I had to get off in Hazen at MM 193 because I was running out of hours on my 14. I guess it wouldn't have bothered me if I was OTR, but I was so used to going home every day. Thank goodness I had a bunk to sleep in, in my truck... -- I had started driving at Midnight that day.. didn't arrive back at the drop yard until 3:30 am the day after..

My truck will only go 60 mph with the pedal pressed down at full throttle. It's completely safe to cross that construction area going 60, but you have plenty of people who aren't used to it and have to slow down around that White River Bridge. I guess it's a little different when you drive through it every day, it's always best to be on the look out and keep plenty of distance between you and the guy in front of you...

According to the Report 1 person died in a Toyota Camry, I think it was the passenger in that car.
Took a quick video while I was driving by (creeping/slow) going WB...
The Pics are from that video

Just saw that...eerie! Odd nobody is attending to them since the deceased was a passenger and that obviously is the driver.
