Recently I decided to change employers. I researched the new company to the best of my ability, using comments from this forum to help in my decision who to go with.
Sadly, there is only so much information you can glean from forums. I went to the new company's orientation, but after two days of learning the company's policies and procedures, I have come to the conclusion that I would not be a good fit with this company. I intend to inform them tomorrow morning that I do not want to work for them. I seem to remember hearing that going to orientation but not accepting the job is not advised. Can anyone tell me what the ramifications (if any)of doing this are ?

Don't worry about it. You weren't officially hired yet anyways. Just tell them the truth and move on.
Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this. -
Better to do it now than to be put officially on the payroll.
kerosene jockey and ewill71 Thank this. -
Just make sure you GOAL before backing out hehe!
Sorry I couldn't resist.
It shouldn't harm anything. I believe if they use DAC it will be an entry on your report that you attended orientation but did not hire on. Not a negative thing I don't believe as it was voluntary.Lonesome Thanks this. -
It will go on your DAC report as you leaving while in orientation. Depending on how scrupulous the company is that note could read "Terminated Employment at Orientation" and leave it at that. You have to realize that companies spend money to hire & bring new drivers in for orientation and they don't like it when you tell them "Nahhh..changed my mind". At the very least you could just be cut loose and left to get back home on your own.
Shaggy Thanks this. -
Have you done any drug tests also, read of someone finding out later they didn't pass the drug test after they had left and this came back to haunt them later with no way to prove.

Start acting like you just got off the short bus......ok maybe not so funny.
-
Look its simple as this. IF you drug test for the company, it WILL show on your DAC. If you dont, it wont.............
Thats it -

If they haven't hired you yet then I don't really see how they could comment on your DAC and make it stick. Just tell them the truth and don't ask or expect them to pay your way home.
