Alcoa Names USA Truck Tier 1 Carrier of the Year
VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS March 5, 2013
USA Truck, Inc. (NASDAQ: USAK) announced that Alcoa has named USA Truck its Tier 1 2012 Carrier of the Year
for providing outstanding dry van service in North America. It is the first time the Van Buren, AR-based company has
    received the award from Alcoa.
“We provided a hybrid solution for Alcoa through our Strategic Capacity Solutions division, supplying supplemental
capacity and excellent service,” said Chris Adams, Director of SCS for USA Truck.
Tim Reyes, President of Alcoa Materials Management, said the core carrier awards represent a successful partnership
that has been developed with Alcoa’s top transportation providers in North America. “The carriers we are recognizing
have best met the criteria established to ensure the needs of Alcoa facilities,” Reyes said in a statement.

Interpret"supplemental capacity " as more trucks than needed so low miles for drivers . They also forgot to mention cheap rates .

They are probably talking about "forecasting" and having trucks available. Forecasting demand is all a part of the planning process. I came from a manufacturing background though so i might not know what Im talking about.

They lied. Its not the first time they recieved a carrier of the year award from Alcoa. If you go in the office there at VB you will see a plaque there at the front desk.

Trucking outfits have it all in their favor. If a driver is sitting around waiting for a load they don't have to pay them. So therefore they don't care if they overload a shipper with 10 trucks to pu 5 loads to make sure the customer gets serviced.

i wonder if this is management patting themselves on the back by exploiting their drivers for profit

do the drivers who work there think they are treated at Tier 1 level?
