This is interesting... slept for 5 hrs last night.... very quiet at shipper's yard... gate was closed when I woke up and I was the only truck in there, nobody else...But I was able to leave... Called their number and security answered and told me how to get out... He was just around the corner... Yeah... right, maybe at one of the strip clubs in that area...
Just joking...
Anyway, started driving at 2:00 am this morning and drove for over 10 hrs and I am not tired or sleepy... Much on the contrary, I feel full of energy... Anyway, there was a lot of fog this morning going thru TN, KY and IL...
Saw pretty bad truck wreck this morning... Overturned tractor trailer on I-55/70E in St. Louis, MO...I was on I-64 W... Ramp to I-70 W was closed... Had to take a detour to get to I-70W... what would I do without GPS...
Anyway, saw the wreck but could not grab my camera to take a shot... Here is a picture found online... It looked pretty bad...
You guys can go this link for more info, pics and video... http://www.kmov.com/news/mobile/Overturned-tractor-trailer-traffic-diverted-200713501.html
Now parked at a FJ in MO... Took my shower, cooked my food...

TN is known for getting very foggy, down there above Chattanooga they have gates on the ramps to close the hwy, I hate fog...

Yes... indeed... not only we, but our lifes, trucks, job routines, so on and so forth... Actually, "my" truck is a very pleasant, comfy place to be in... Despite of the extreme temps in the summer and winter, I like it. It's very clean, very neat, well organized, no clutter, lots of room inside, two beds... my bed is very clean and neat and comfortable... I use it as bed and also as kitchen counter, table, etc... In here I cook, I eat, sleep, do my paperwork, trip planning, cleaning... So, during my reset, I don't just sit in here... Besides, I go shopping for groceries, take my laptop somewhere... Like tomorrow, I will be taking my 34 at a WM store parking lot where I am supposed to deliver... So, I will be walking around, doing my groceries, shopping, etc... If only there were a restroom and a kitchen sink in this truck (besides an APU), it would be PERFECT!!
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
But then you'd have one of them Monsters with 325" PLUS wheelbase that you can't put in a lot of docks.
Rocks Thanks this. -
Ohh... forgot to say, if I were getting back at least 11 hrs a day, every day, I would like to stay on recap too. Because I like to run hard almost every day and don't like to be limited by the hrs I have... or have to wait till mid night to regain hrs
But as that is not possible, reset every weekend or every other weekend works fine for me.
Just wondering what will happen with my routine if this changes to HOS really take effect in July...
Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
Oh, bummer, Rocks
I wish we could meet for a while. I thought you might be passing this way when you said you were on your way to SD. When you get to Exit 50 on I29 N, give a big long honk. I'm about 10 miles NE of there. I won't hear you, but in my heart I'll know how close we came. It's not terribly bad weather here, though we did have thunderstorms this morning, and they are calling for more later today, but I think tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day. Be safe my dear friend ~huge hugs~
Rocks Thanks this. -
