I came off home time Monday and I have 10.5 hours left on my 70. (Friday)
Following those rules to the letter sure eats up hours fast.
I have 0 hours rolling in for the next 2 days, and only about 4 hours the next.
Good night from...

Billings, MT. What a day of headwinds. dropped me from 8mpg to 7. Was looking at fuel comming accross, and saw in Rapid City, SD, 4.09/gal and the same in MT. Was just tooling along, when a sign caught my eye in SD, $3.81. Stopped quick and topped off about 60 gals. Will have to top off again when I pu student, get enough to get into OR and hopefully back out.

Woodland, PA.
Just got a pplan. I had to laugh.
Pick up tomorrow at 2200, about an hour away, a pre-loaded 45k load of water.
Deliver 220 miles away the next morning at 1100, a live unload.
I guess the planners can't count to 14.
Either that, or they are on something that lets them bend time.scottied67 Thanks this. -
R ur guys Qualcomm working or is it just me?? Can't get a hold of anyone on phone
-
My QC is working fine.
My last pick up location, however, didn't have a QC signal. I had to call a bit later to get my loaded call fixed. -
I think the planners just let the computer calculate everything out with 2 hour live loads for the parameters and 8 hours sleeper split breaks. I always ask what the true pick up and delivery times are, if they do not respond, I just turn it down without a reason then boom they are all over me asking me to send mac 9 again with a reason lol.
Last couple of days, Searcy AR to Crossett AR, Sweetwater TX, Wilcox AZ, tomorrow aiming for Ontario CA about 10 miles from delivery Monday morning. -
Well, in this case they didn't leave room for a pre-trip or a 2 hour live unload. Not to mention the hour getting to the shipper.
And I don't do split sleepers.
In this case it was hard appointment times at both ends.
I think they just wanted me to turn down a load so they wouldn't have to pay layover. There are several other Swift drivers that delivered at the same time here. I'm pretty sure that 4 of us picked up at the same spot and delivered here today.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I've had a lot of load offers like this, I think they want us to head over as soon as possible and sit outside the customer's gate for our 10 or 15 or 20 hours til pick up time, get live loaded while doing an 8 hour sleeper then run the 220 miles over for live unload.
Did you try using the mac 9 time adjustments? I think it is better to turn it down on the 14 hour basis, but it does tie the truck up for too much time for too little miles. -
I didn't adjust the times because both pick up and delivery times said 'by appointment only'.
I also called DM asking how I could possibly do this load in 14 hours. He said, you can't - so turn it down.
And when I got the pplan I only had 20 minutes left on my 14.
I was sent a pplan that they knew I could not do.
Which just adds to my turn down rate.
Speaking of which...
Did you know that turning down a plan with adjusted times that are kicked back to you as approved, which you then accept - also increases your turn down ratio? -
I just threw up a little when you said "Did you know....". I get those stupid messages every day "Did you know.... backing acccidents are #1 blah blah blah" lol
I'm afraid to check but I'm sure mine's like 50% turn down rate or worse. I even got a message one day, "the planners are getting frustrated, please accept one of these loads, are you even going to run today?"
