Indeed I have! K&B got behind, and I spent a month dragging those IBP drop frame railers on interplant loads when I was with PBX.

And don't tell anybody, but I'm actually an encyclopedia of random knowledge. I just play a dumb ol' carhauler to hide it!:biggrin_25522:

WOW!! PROFESSOR HAMMER166!! :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514: THANKS A LOT!! I will save this info in my notebook for future reference... for sure. :yes2557: Have a female friend who is a tanker yanker... for almost 15 years and she never explained these things to me... :biggrin_25512:
Oh yes, now I am inside Subway, sitting at a table where I can plug my laptop instead of inside the truck using the truck battery. Maybe will have another veggie pizza... had one yesterday...

Cincy, sitting at my delivery customer. 0600 Monday appt.

Been off a few days, licking my wounds. Crushed my left rear skirt on the tractor Friday morning just after 0500.....bobtail...just a momentary lapse of concentration, and whammo! Pleated skirt. Not my style.

Didn't get in a hurry....it wasn't hidden. I simply paused, in the midst of a trailer search, next to this 8" retaining or dividing wall. Two...maybe three minutes, but never exited the tractor. Just verified which trailer I was looking for. Then, when I went to leave to go to the second location, I turned left toward the exit.

    A little too soon.

Cap'n Crunch visited me and promptly deflated my pride with his sword.

    Dang.

Wait, wait, WAIT!!!! Pack, you forgot the blame this on your trainer, the dark drop lot, the bright light on the edge of the property, the poor mirrors on your company truck, etc. You know, anything but admitting fault! </sarc>:biggrin_25524:

Seriously though, it happens to all us at one point or another. Just glad it didn't tear up anything important!

This is how stupid this was:

The lighting to that side was fine.
It was not a tight area, though the yard dogs were active, so I purposely tried to stay out of the way.
    Like I said, I wasn't hurrying.
    AND.....TO CAP IT OFF......

this stupid little wall had just been painted bright yellow with black stripes, so drivers wouldn't miss it.

    AND I DIDN'T!!:biggrin_25523:

I think one of the corollaries to Murphy's Law has to do with making us look like the biggest dumb ### possible!:sly:

Sorry to "hear" that 48Packard... :biggrin_2557: I think I know how it feels... I also have done "stupid" things like that... Then I keep revisiting it in my memory for at least a week (or longer), trying to understand why I did what I did... and the answer is always, I wasn't paying attention to all details... or I was in a hurry and didn't pay enough attention... But I always learn from my experience so that I never do it again. I bet you learned something from that... :yes2557: And yes, it can happen to any one of us... Doesn't matter how many years of experience... only one little distraction and BANG!! Like my old CDL instructor used to tell us, "we have many chances to do wrong and only one to do it right"... Anyway, glad to know it was only the skirt that got damaged... you and the truck and everything else is ok. :yes2557:

I'll say one thing....I can probably tell you every truck that has passed me going the other way for the last two days. I keep looking for another tractor....ANY tractor....with the same damage, just so I know I'm not the only DA!

Are you talking about that black (whatever color) plastic stripe on the side of the truck under the driver steps or fuel tank area? If so, YES!! I have seen several trucks with damages in that area... One of the trucks I "had" in my company was even missing one of those... I took pictures of it before I left the terminal to show them I didn't cause it... Just in case...
