Thank you all for the words of encouragement and congrats!
I've met some really good people in this industry and I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by the support
But I was, hehe.
Do I think I will make this a career? The answer to the question changes ever time I drive into NYC haha.
Doing the type of work I'm doing now, I'd say no. And to be honest, this was almost a "forced career".
Bills were due and this line of work was the best paying to be found.
I know it's not some would like to hear. But it's the truth. And I'm still drivin.
As for better/worse, it also, varies day to day. There are some days/runs where I'm like shoot yeah, ez money!
Then, the next day, it could be like man, I'm over this.
But when ya have a family, it's not so ez (or wise) to just walk away from things.
And, lastly, considering you asked if I would recommend this as a career... I'd say...
If you have to ask, I would tell you no
I'm just good at it. Although it may not be my favorite thing to do.
Thank you
And yes, I did start out driving flat beds and tankers.
My first fiscal year was MOSTLY tanker loads. I was actually on two nice accounts that I drove a lot too.
This fiscal year? Mostly flat beds to NYC.
Sorry it's taken me this long to get back to you all. Ya know how it is though
