My contractor got me the Xerox scanner from the Mercer store. For $150, it should also fax and print in color.

 

Is that the scanner that you use with your android phone?

 

The android app takes a pic of the paperwork, then you transmit the pic.

The scanner hooks up to a laptop with a USB connection. I use my Droid as a wifi hotspot for the laptop. Then I import all the pages into the TripPac program and transmit. Easy.

 

I was just on trippak's website and they now have a Xerox scanner that plugs into an android phone and scans the paperwork, no more taking pictures.

 

I may be able to do that with the correct cable which wasn't supplied with the scanner.

 

This is one of those small ones that runs the paper thru it and comes with the needed cable to plug into the phone. I ordered one so we shall see how it works.

150 bucks, my lord, I get my o/s permits sent as an e-mail then print them out on my printer, I also do my monthly maintnenance reports on my laptop, I scanned a sheet , saved it as a pdf , and fill out the text every month and then trip pak scan it. I also have a myfax account , ten bucks a month, so I send and receive faxes right here from the truck, no more 2 bucks a page at the truckstop

 

I guess its a white one?

 

I haven't done an OS since I sold my step, to be honest I could care less if I ever pull another OS load again. I will probably only pull one now if there is nothing else around or if it justs pays way to much to not do it. But lets face it, 99% of the OS freight here anymore doesn't pay anymore than a legal load. So with all that said, I really have no need for a scanner, copier, printer setup. And the other thing is the size of them, I really just don't want to make room for it. I also do not have a laptop, I have my phone and a tablet, all nice and small and easy to store and use. I was planning to go out tonight and buy a laptop and printer, scanner, copier. So in the end this thing that plugs into my phone will be alot cheaper.
