My question is? If a specialized license is needed to haul something, Is there a little extra in the paycheck?

There already is something extra in the paycheck. Most of the HAZMAT tote loads I get are well over 2000 miles. I recently got a 3200 mile load. USA has 2500 mile Dupont loads they run out of Front Royal, VA to Reno, NV. I get them all the time.

That's funny. Everytime I got a good load, they took it away from and gave it to someone else. Then the person getting the load wouldn't even bring me an empty. So I would have to spend hours looking for an empty to go do a 300 mile load that wasn't due for 5 days. Don't miss it a bit.

I know that USA is good for claiming they need your load to get another driver home but it usually 'bs'. Your FM just wants to keep you in a certain area because it makes his/her job easier. If they try to take a load from me I tell then to take the truck and all. I dont need USA and I can manage just fine without the job.

Having a Hazmat and/or a tanker endorsement has very little to do with the length of the load. All it does is makes you available for more loads than the person that doesn't have those endorsements.

Thats not true. The HAZMAT loads always tend to be much longer than non- HAZMAT. How many 3200 mile non-HAZMAT loads do you get? Nearly every HAZMAT load I get is well over 2000 miles.
