Home sweet home. Could have been here on Saturday, but with the window that was on the load, decided to wait until Sunday. Mostly because of the new pay system for trainees. I let the student handle the whole load which allowed him some more hours for pay. Even with home time now, he is still way ahead of schedule. Today have to take the truck back to T/A and show them the previous work order and ask them why, after being told that buying the new steer tire, the vibration would stop, and I still have it. If there is a issue, I will be going off on someone.
Good night from...

Finally, a perfect pplan.
Since getting back from home time I have been running the night shift, and I hate that.
Got a plan picking up tonight in Brighton, CO, delivering at 1000 in El Paso,TX on the 1st.
I'll be able to adjust my schedule back to daytime driving - hooray!!!
Plenty of time to get a shower and do laundry, hit up a WallyWorld...
I didn't even have to adjust the times. -
There's a big building in Phoenix full of people that just fell out of their collective chair
when they read that.Moosetek13, Raca and fr8monkey Thank this. -
LOL!!!
Is that because they agree with me, or because they think I am a non-trucker-wimp?
Or, is it because they have a 'God complex' and think that they really do control me.
Things that make you go... hmmm... -
Have to thank the planners in Fontana. I needed a reset and asked them for a load to Las Vegas to do it at home. They came through for me gave a load to Vegas early Saterday morning, Delivering it now on Monday.

Have to ask, what is the best way to give Swift notice that you are quitting? I've only been here for 6 months, but I got an offer for another driving job making the same or more miles, home almost every week for my resets, and going from $.28/mile to $.40/mile. Just too good to not take right now. And I know it is legit, I have a buddy of mine that has been driving for this company for years. One more question. Would it be reasonable to ask them to let me turn my truck into the drop yard in Las vegas instead of one of the terminals.
-
You could ask to drop at the Losee yard but I doubt they will accept that proposition.
As far as quitting, all I did was clean out the truck really well and placed the keys on my DM's desk and walked out. This was when I was hired to run with a Swift O/O. After about 3.5 weeks we came back home I came back into the terminal and asked for keys to a company truck, to which they agreed to give me but there was a week + wait for trucks at that time. Don't worry about the 2 week notice thing, just quit on your own time schedule, trust me they will have a waiting driver for that truck, they are not worried about you following proper quitting etiquette. -
We are finally getting some good miles Got put on a dedicated freight run from Bloominton, Ca, to Cleveland, Oh, and back. 2300 miles one way and we are hoping to do 3 a week before taking a restart. Just got back to Bloominton this morning and sitting at Fontana until tomorrow morning. One nice thing is that we run past the house each way...lol
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Good going girl. I am still hoping for the Costco run. It is all looking good. I will know the end of this week, and hopefully 4500 miles per week, and home every weekend. That, I can deal withscottied67 Thanks this.

Getting the Costco would be really great for you. I hope it comes through.
