Looks like the shutdown was more about money than safety issues

I remember laughing at all the miscarriers (MsCarriers) running down the road, but I think they have been bought out. And it amazes me how many small/medium trucking companies have pirate logos -- nothing puts a shipper's mind at ease quite like the sight of knife in the clenched teeth of a buccaneer with a skull & crossbones backdrop

 

MS Carriers is now owned by Swift. has been for a few years now.

 

I wondered why I stopped seeing those rattletrap trucks running down the road.

 

I remember NO BS TRUCKING out of the northeast. Literally had a red circle with a slash on top of their logo which consisted of a bull dropping a load. Always got a kick out of that one.

A bunch of those trucks and trailers are sitting in an auction yard south of Amarillo. I figured they went bankrupt or something like that.
