I never worked for knight but I am on my way home after a 3 day orientation. If I had the patience to deal with the idiots in the Ohio terminal I think they may have been okay to work for. What pissed me off was the lack of organization. I am self employed and that cause a problem so I had to spend my first 2 days proving I owned a business. They seem real laid back but for me that doesn't work. I just got my cdl so I have no expert with driving or other companies. Day three I was told everything was good and they were just waiting on my drug test. They called me later that day and said they weren't going to hire me. The reasons were I texted during a slide show. I explained my step mom was in the hospital and that's why I responded. They said they couldn't prove my work history and I did get in a brief argument with the medical examinar. I was not reimbursed for my transportation or time at orientation but I learned that truck driving isn't for me
Do not work for knight transportation!!!

Trucking might be for you, just not Knight. A lot of people excuse Knights practices as "paying dues"
Oh and PT is right about complaining and it having an adverse affect on your job. Actually most of us refer to that as standing up for yourself. Amazing after all this time, Knight continues to be just as bad as they were before.
Why would I help YOU out? You didn't pay the last two times. OH YOU'RE a complainer.
Another crappy run, I just did 12? OH YOU'RE a complainer.
For the SECOND time could I get reimbursed for this scale and tolls? OH YOU'RE a complainershadowdaddy Thanks this. -
I am going to try it one more time with another company. If I have another bad experience I will leave it alone all together. I have a clean driving record a college degree own a 500k house and owe a small but successful business. I decide to start driving because I wanted to learn the ropes before getting my own car hauler and trying to get into the business. I guess when you get your cdl and have no experience you have to go through the ropes but I'm not going to deal with lies and bs along the way. Some days I can deal with it some days I can't. I came out here to Ohio and didn't have a positive attitude so next time around I will try it with a better attitude

Good luck with your plans. -
I agree but when I arrived they told me they needed more info to verify my employment. That was too much to swallow. I wouldn't have been able to pay a 4000 a month mortgage if I wasn't working. if it doesn't start of good it won't end good. Lesson learned

I am in the same situation as you. I have ben self employed for the past 15 years but I DO have my tax returns with me. I hope that is all they need to verify my employment history. When I spoke to them on the phone they claimed that was all I needed.

one last thing I want to say is I do not know the company well enough to bash them. I am sure for some it will work out fine . My issues may very well be the same with any trucking company I apply for. I just wanted to tell my story. good luck to all the new drivers and stay calm . live and learn. One thing that i learned form this forum that helped me is make sure you have enough money to get home.
