I'm still not giving up on meeting with Pete. Maybe he won't have a load heading out of my area until later in the day. When I re-awaken at a decent hour for my day off, I'll check in to see if he's still lurking in the neighborhood. If so, maybe hubby and I can buy him a cup of coffee and have a little #### chat.

I'm not giving up on running into (not literally) you, Eaton. It sounds like there's a chance you may be in the vicinity occasionally. Happy birthday to your sweetheart. If we don't catch ya again before the weekend, be safe and enjoy the family.

Now that the starved kids have been nourished, I'm going back to bed. It's my day off.

 

It only took 19 years...but now I get to experience a "Convention Delivery" here in Vegas......OH JOY!!!! NOT!!!!!!

I find out:
1. Check in, weigh in at 0700....Marshaling Yard, 8801 Las Vegas Blvd. South
2. Park and wait for call to window
3. Wait for dispatch to Convention Center
4. Proceed to convention center...on Paradise next door to Vegas Hilton
5. Wait for dock available
6. Unload
7. Return to Marshaling Yard scale/check out.

If all goes well....could be "released" around 1700!

 

Salinas ca. Just another day of playing "produce cooler run around"! Checked in at pick number 1 and told "will be ready around 8pm" no probs I will call to the next pick and see of I can get it on first. Call second pick "yes it's ready for pick up now" great I says as I burn over to get it on the truck. Check in and get told " still waiting on product, we will call you when it's ready " . Ok usual story Hurry up and Wait! If you're going to haul produce you better have some patience!

Finally back home. Now I remember why I don't take days off, especially more than 1 day at a time. I'd gladly go to work tomorrow if they wanted me to.

I can't stand to watch the same episode of "Little House on the Prairie" one more time this week. I know it's at least the 3rd time and possibly the 4th time since Monday.

I'm just gonna shut up and sit back for a while. Maybe if I keep quiet I won't need to be told again how stupid everything I say is.

 

I don't think I want to haul produce...
Dropped loaded trailer at 3:30 am California time, hooked to another loaded trailer at same spot... Going to Waco, TX. Now I'm at this parking lot in AZ. Right next to Walmart. Did my shopping, but they didn't have everything that I wanted...




Decided this wasn't a very good spot... so, I turned the truck around.... Now it's much better. Easy out.... Will start my driving at 1:30 am eastern time. No time for cooking... had a Subway pizza and going to bed as soon as I finish some more planning...



You know.... looks like 99% of folks here are native Americans.

 

Sorry for my earlier post. I'm gone from home so much, I would just like to enjoy some time at home, not out running around for 4 or 5 hours. I know hubby gets tired of being in the house all the time, but I get tired of being gone. I didn't get anything done I wanted to today, so now I get to do it after work and be another hour late getting home. All home is to me is a place to shower, eat, sleep and do laundry.

My psychotic nerve has pain shooting down both my legs and all the walking around the stores and being cold and damp has me hurting like you know what. I'm using moist heat and popping extra ibuprofen, wrapped in an afghan to warm my bones and joints.

 

I know that one too, but your secret is safe with me.

I walked in the door not more than 10 minutes ago.

Ran 13 deliveries today. One of them should pay pretty good and a few more at least better than minimum.

Yippee! I did not bring any work home!

 

OK...guess all things considered, I beat the system....checked out at 1630....beat the system by 30 minutes....with enough hours left to drive to Hesperia. Which sets me up just right for p/u in Pomona and time to get home.....deliver Richmond Sunday morning, drop new truck off at shop and take some days off...completely off...well not completely...there is always the yard and stuff!
