You are being too independent. Start whining and crying like the rest so you are noticed more often.

Just wait till one of the agents promises something and then backs out of paying for it.
Might just be me, as I seem to get the problem loads.

Has anyone noticed that flatbed freight has been scarce? I'm not seeing the good paying loads like I used to.
I've been looking at the van loads and noticed the rates have gone up and there is a bunch more available freight. I think I could average $1.65 a mile and be able to see a more varied parts of the country like the North-West, but I would miss my step.

Yes I've been seeing the same thing.
I'm not sure I can pull a van again. I know I don't have an endorement for it on my license.

You couldn't do it with your truck. We have to get into some pretty tight places, mostly at smaller companies and very few distribution centers etc.

Oh Yea, that's why I pull a step cause I never learned how to back into a dock.

And don't get me started on slamming doors.

I've backed my step into a dozen docks over the last 4 months :biggrin_25522:

This driver got his trailer at the correct dock, but he yard driver had to put it in for him :biggrin_2559:. It was painful to watch. He bumped the right wall several times.

Only $1.65 a mile with a van.. ..stay with the flat. Too many like minded individuals like you already pulling vans.. I could probably roll up 4k miles a week at that rate on the hub, to the truck, 52 weeks a year at an average like that. Let me keep everything over $1.65 and let me dictate the routes and I'd dispatch you ???? Maybe not... difficult enough keeping one truck well over that when that's the bar the competition raises...
