    I dunno.

I'm a company driver as well, but I don't get paid hourly on short runs.
But the pay per mile is higher, and under 100 miles there is aother $25 or something added on for 'short run' pay.

What has his driver manager said about this?
Has he contacted his terminal manager?

Tomah, WI. Ohh how I love pulling an ultra lite trailer when MT. Things are looking up now, but next week down again when I lose team status, and have to start to run super solo for 50 hours

Yes, but you can look forward to graduating another student and get that extra cash for a few months longer.

Supposedly DM said he'd take care of it, but I doubt he has anything to do with payroll (standard brush off DM answer? Probably). He hasn't talked to the terminal manager. How does he do that? Can he just call him or does he need to be at his home terminal? (He's always on the other side of the country).

Here in the hotel in Morris. Decided to get out of the truck. Left the student in the truck. Had the truck into the T/A this morning to find out why we can not get rid of the vibration. They put the tires on the the balancing machine, which the T/A in Knoxville did not do when they sold me a new steer tire, and now turns out that I did not need, and we found a bad tire. Luckily yesterday I was in IGH, and they quoted me $800 for two new steers, out the door, so I guess that I am heading back there on Monday. One steer tire here, $600, so for another $200, get me 2 new Michelins. If they would have put the tires on the machine in the first place, they would have found the bad tire.

Nothing much to report last few days until early yesterday morning, was walking Abby back to the truck, saw another truck nearby trying to back out of his hole but there were a row of trucks lined up behind him. I went over with the thought to help the guy but he waved me off. He was getting awfully close to the hood of one of the trucks, I waved him down and yelled, jumped up and down as he kept coming back and gently kissed the hood with his trailer. He stopped for a moment, I thought he might get out then, but he dumped the clutch and rammed into the hood pretty good then. I felt like I was going to throw up right there. Satisfied he was far enough out of his hole, he then cranked hard left and pulled forward and his tailswing swiped into the next truck too. At that point Abby and I just kept walking on between the trailers and made our way all the way around the perimeter of the truck stop again and came back between our trailer and the next to hide ourselves as the 3 truckers were out yelling at each other and the cops had shown up. I so did not want to be involved in that, filling out statements etc. We eased on out and got our fuel. I was telling the girl at the fuel desk about it, she was telling me about the guy who wiped out one of the fuel pumps and tried to blame her for it a couple days before, because he was upset she didn't turn the pumps on fast enough he grabbed gears and ripped out the pump.

Then a few hundred miles later was driving along doing fine and see this big huge turkey come flying out of the woods about windshield level. I ducked and held on tight but she got some emergency lift, alas not enough as I heard a loud boom and saw cars and trucks behind me slamming their brakes on and swerving around a very large flapping bird in the freeway. She hit the top aerodynamic shield (no damage) and left some yellowish fluid up there, that's why I think it was a mama turkey. I didn't think to reach over and hit 'save' on the dash cam, so the event was recorded over with boring no-event driving.

Picked up in Avenel NJ terminal bound for Jackson MS then Houston TX.

Best thing would be to call the recruiters at Swift on Monday. I think there is a bill in congress to allow military truck driving experience to carry over into the civilian world.

Swift had leased the truck to me with bent ubolts holding the leaf springs to the frame on the passenger side. Can't really blame Swift as the truck did come with a 30 day warranty, I'm really mad at myself for not discovering it til 31 days into the lease.
That long story to segue into the fact in January I finally got the truck into a shop to fix that as the Goodyears that came on the truck lasted almost a year and a half but the Firestones I put on were already trashed in less than 6 months by that time in January. They spun em and balanced em, along with the centromatics the truck tracks nice and straight and the steers look just as new as the day they were put on some months ago. Hopefully yours will be lasting a good long time this time blsqueak.
