I worked for them for 9 months and barely made any money. Do your contract and leave as soon as you can. The company is a joke.

please tell me I'm misreading this somehow, and yeah this post is from like a month ago but none the less lol, the way you spoke sounds like you arent with crst, very interested in seeing where you are working and not even making 30... I made over 30 my FIRST year... just over 30 but with 8 years that you have listed..

I started training at the new riverside terminal in April and am now out on the road after finishing my 28 days with a trainer. I have had a decent experience so far. It's important to ask questions and have a good attitude. I read many of the negatives about CRST on this forum before I signed up, but I have not encountered much of what bad things people were saying. Yes, pay is low, but it is a starter company. Do your homework before signing up and know what trucking entailes. It's a very different lifestyle. I will say that CRST training is very accelerated.

In regards to miles per week, we are doing pretty good so far with about 5000 per week. It will vary some depending on various factors, but we have a good fleet mgr who has been keeping us running. We also manage our hours well and arrive to deliveries on time. That is important.

Hey all. Got 4 days left of training OTR with CRST. Just my experience, it has been good. I went to there Riverside terminal. Not the best place lol. Looks nice but after 3 weeks, you hate it! I went through their sponsored training school ASD. I didn't really get enough behind the wheel time there in my opinion. 4 students to 1 truck with a instructor. I was the only one who knew how to shift so my instructor sat me in the back and gave the other 3 most of the driving time. All together I think I had like 2 hrs of actual driving time. I am out here on the road with my trainer now. I am on the reefer division and honestly I don't think CRST is ready for a reefer division. Every appt time we have gotten is wrong. They told us deliver Monday at 0600-0600. When we get there we aren't due for delivery until Friday.. also they have us do A LOT of deadheading. We deadheaded from Logan, Utah to Sacramento, Ca.. all together I have so far I would guess 1200 dead head miles. Good thing is you get paid for it. One thing I didn't like was they gave us a load from PA to AZ then when we get to MO they tell us we have to relay a load in NM and take it to PA and deliver in the morning..Now again we were in MO, no way we could make it to NM and back to PA on time. when we finally make it to NM we meet up with the other driver and switch loads, we realize dispatch didn't give us directions back to PA to the customer. When we asked for routing we got "I have nothing for you." Haha. So we just made our own route back the way we came. We also told them there was no way we could deliver on time, yet the entire way back Patrick kept asking why we were going to be late..he wouldn't listen to the fact we drove like 1200 mi just to pick up the load..which was already late to begin with..fun times haha. That happens regularly btw. This division is VERY unorganized. However, I have been getting paid, they gave me $70 back for orientation pay, $160 for sign on bonus, and I make around $280 a check after taxes, and they pay twice a week which is cool. We do get a lot of miles, ran 6000 a couple times already. All in all, its okay company. Needs to figure stuff out with the reefer division. Oh, also CRST expects you to pay EVERYTHING and then they reimburse you later for it. Tolls, trailer wash outs, lumpers..kinda annoying when you make $250 a check. Trainer covers it now, but I assume I will be broke a lot soon haha. I think I am just gonna do my 8 months and bounce here. Rude, unorganized dispatch. But we all start somewhere. Just thought I would let future truckers know what to expect here. Good luck to you guys and stay safe out there :)

I see it hasn't changed much since I was there 4 years ago. I went through 4 dispatchers in the 8 months I was there cause I would get in arguments with them all the time. Don't be afraid to tell the dispatchers no. They will push you to run even when you can't do it. As far as reimbursements go make copies of all receipts and keep them and double check every check cause they like to "lose" receipts that you give them so they don't have to pay you for it. My advice is do your contract time and the next day be gone. There are much much better companies out here.
Get your experience backing up. Request you do all the backing. Driving the interstates is the easy part. City driving and backing is what makes a truck driver.

Yeah, I have all my receipts. My backing is pretty good. I don't know what to expect on my post road test. I don't know if I do a backing or not? My first road test was basically around the block, driving forward haha. Yea at the pay rate, it doesn't seem worth it to me to stay after my contract. Reefer pays 34 cpm but thats after 6 months. 22 cpm now but I make about $450 a week take home. And yeah they expect us to never stop the truck unless to fuel. We still stop but they aren't happy about it. But we are never late. Usually early unless, like right now, they told us to take this load to Sacramento by 0500. Found out this load goes to eureka, ca lol. Like I said..unorganized. But thanks for the tips.
