Only a few people on this thread says Sharkey is bad. Sharkey is a great company! The only people I've ever heard gripe about them are people that peed in their own cheerios.

 

The boobs at Sharkey sent me an email. The have great advertising and a decent paint job on the tractors. These are the 2 nice things I could think of to say about Sharkey.

 

I have worked for Sharkey a year today. I have YET to see a $1000 week. You can't hit their fuel bonus in these pos trucks. They want 6.2. Never gonna happen in a truck with 900k miles, pulling 44k of meat up and down hills all day. In a year I have gotten ONE bonus check and it didn't say what it was for. The longer I'm here the less I like it.

Now maybe I'm on a wrong pay scale (percentage) or pulling the wrong freight (reefer) but its dismal at best. Now given I do have child support coming outta my checks at 120 a week but still. My net this week was under $500. Can't live on that. I'm out 5 1/2 days at a time. I leave Sunday night normally and return Saturday morning.

 

I work for them and they aren't terrible but they are by no means great. They are average at best. They have no reqs for being a driver other then passing a road test with a city driver. Most drivers I see at Sharkey are guys that couldn't cut it at other carriers. Either too old, too fat, or terrible attitude.

 

Look , I was there for 1.5 years & was on % at first , Refer Division . Think about it , it only pays you one-way !! I changed to the 40/30 cpm , did much better . Then get off the Refer Division & went DryVan made more miles & seen alot more country !! There are NO more great companies around any more , just a big bunch of "average" companies trying to make themselves sound great ! I would have probably stayed but got tired of the EAST coast & needed a job with "pet policy" Good Luck !!

IF you are un happy with your current run, transfer!! Look on the job board at the terminal. We have a non-forced dispatch! So if you are not happy switch runs. That simple.

What job board? Where's that at? I been here a year I ain't never seen a job board. Or been told about one.
