Back here at my home away from home, the T/A in Morris. This place is a real cluster tonight. Just trying to find a place to put a B/T is almost impossible. I finally just created a spot. Between all of the other b/t's in here, mostly SWIFT and quite a few wide loads taking up some serious space. Now have to wait for a student again. Good chance out of Cols tomorrow. Have to call Jenifer and see if there are any left. Almost 1/2 of the orientation class was already sent home this morning, about 10-12. There was even one driver that showed up with a interperter to help him understand the english on the paperwork. He was sent home.

About 6 weeks ago I got hammered pretty hard at Castaic Ca scales and today got the inspection treatment again at Banning Ca scales. Failed brake lights, wow Out of Service buddy. OK let's back this truck up. I dropped/hooked in Phoenix yesterday, immediately got a message to bring the empty I just picked up and take it to the PHX terminal. Hmm, maybe the system detects it needs an PM. No they needed the empty trailer for drivers who are waiting for one. WHAT? What about me? I need one for my next load. Anyway they fully checked out the trailer then made me sweep it out and drop it yay.

So some time later I got a load that was previously tcalled just pick it up on the yard and go. All the lights worked when I pretripped it, somewhere along the line to the scale they went out. Turns out the ABS had tripped a fuse and blew it, once we replaced the fuse, the ABS light came on so that tells me there's a problem with the brakes.

Anyway, this kind of day can be expected when the load is the one getting me home for Mem Day.

update.. had detached retina and had surgery end of march. been out of work since and surgeon gave me go ahead to see optometrist. just got back and he said vision is now 20/30 with glasses. he said its 50/50 to get vision back but guess i lucked out. finally, good news after a rough 2 months. even got rejected for disability due to not working all lasr year. have to wait 10-12 working days to get new glasses back. called dm and let him know and tried to see if note from optomitrist would be good enough to return. he's gonna call someone and see. last week he said i mite have to get note from surgeon.. anyways, looking forward to get working again. swift has been real good in working with me on this..thought they mite get rid of me after my fmla ran out. but nope.

Here in Castleton, IN. Del at 6 in morning. Got to park here. Get a nice 11 hour break. Pick up new student, and he lives 30 miles from me. Jennifer pulled through for me. He is going to enjoy being home every weekend. Gets to park his pick up at my home, and he is ready to hit the road and hit it hard.

It was a beautiful day for it, I had the time for it, it is a gorgeous drive and everyone should do it at least once ... But I wouldn't recommend a steady diet of it ... Fernley after doing US50 from UT through NV ... home tomorrow for week or so.

I've been across US50 in NV twice in the last year. Wouldn't recommend if is you're heavy or lack experience. Both times I've used it I did so to cut 100 miles off the trip from Nephi to Calif.
