USA Truck Incident in Atlanta

I hear this line so much from people that have nothing better to say. Really now, do you think someone is really going to risk their life with a student that can't drive to take a nap?
Sure trainers go to sleep. That's part of the team phase, at that point they are confident enough in their student to do so. You can't hold their hand 24/7 but you are there to help them out when they have questions or get into a jam.
They have to go solo sometime, better accompanied than to just hand them a key and send them on their way.

 

Once upon a time I started out as a student at USA and all my trainer did was sleep but anyway I'm siding with the USA driver(s) on this one. It clearly wasnt the drivers fault. The u-turn apparently was legal and it didnt cause the crash. And BTW, I have already said plenty on this post.

 

Aparently you were a good student and he had confidence in you. And you passed and are still driving so he must have been right. Good job!

 

I think he just had a sleep disorder.

 

I'm sure there are plenty of students out there that can safely operate on their own after a week or two and there is no reason to pay them low trainee pay longer than that other than to increase carrier profits .

 

If you were a pedestrian standing still in the middle of that lane and the shuttle hit you after skidding 158 feet, who is at fault? The shuttle.

I think the shuttle has some talking to do..... especially if it struck the trailer.

 

If he didn't make the U turn at that time it wouldn't have happened

 

So by this logic then anytime someone hits you on the road then it would be your fault since if your vehicle wasn't there then there wouldn't be an accident.
As long as the u turn was legal and the driver didn't pull out in front of anyone then the fault would seem to lie with the vehicle that collided with him especially if that vehicle was speeding which it seems to have been.

 

It doesn't really matter. The truck could have been 27 feet away from the road. If he got hit by someone, it is the drivers fault. He just shouldn't have got up that morning. Just should have slept in for awhile.
