Yep ... I took home time just before Memorial weekend the last two years and then suffered through no load and low freight during the weekend ... this year I stayed out and planned my home time to coincide with Memorial weekend.

So .... I'm home and will be, until at least Friday.

Same thing here, put my home request in for May 18, actually got home May 23 which was fine, pay period cutoff and home just in time for the holiday.

Let the games begin, they want me to go out about 60 miles and pick up a load then tcall it back about 60 miles to the terminal. First I have to go find a food grade trailer then drop it and go find another for my next load.

I'm not crazy about 3 days sitting just before 3 days home time. I just hope I get some layover pay out of it.

Got a load picking up 200 miles in the other direction at 0900 tomorrow morning, but getting me very close to home the next day.
Decisions... I had just paid for another night at the motel, then got the pplan.
I decided to stay in the room and leave at 0500 for my pickup, and hope the 'unscheduled delivery time' works out in my favor.

    I love holiday weekends.

Sitting with a load that doesn't have to be delivered until tomorrow. Sitting at the Gary, In terminal getting another 34 reset, I have less than 2 hours left of my 70 but its been a good week, I didn't sit around at all, only on time not driving was for pre trips and post trips.
