Yuma Az. Made first pick in Brawley ca. 16 pallets of cantaloupe . Got 2 pallets to pick up here in Yuma for my final then off to Montreal. I've done a rough trip plan for this run and figure on being in Moriarty Nm tommorow evening . Then on to Vinita Ok for Friday night. Then to Eaton Oh Saturday night. Then as far into Ontario or even to Montreal if I can push it that far for Sunday night.
i don't get out this way often and know most of the folks on here are out somewheres in the vicinty of my general direction so if anyone's going to be in or near these places over the next few days let me know. I won't have much time for more than a quick cup of coffee unless your in the same place as me when I shut down for the night but ya never know who you might see along the line!

Family... family... I was raised pretty much in solitude... parents were not around, no siblings... met only one grandmother for a little while... No kids now... I guess that's why I am not a family oriented type of person and I am ok living in solitude... and trucking fits right in... :yes2557: I wish I could be with my dad in Brasil now... I miss him a lot... :biggrin_2557: and he misses me. But that is not a good choice due to several reasons...

This is where I am now. Small truck stop somewhere in PA.

Actually, I am going to bed... feeling tired and sleepy and disappointed with myself:biggrin_2557: Because I thought deliveries today would take much longer than they did and I gave my dispatcher a bad ETA to next shipper... I thought I would have to p/up tomorrow because there would not be time to do it today... So, load was put on hold... However, everything went pretty quickly today and I would have been able to be at shipper today only a few mins after the original schedule... But it was re-scheduled for tomorrow... In the past, I would have found out shipper's phone number, called and scheduled directly with them. But I am getting tired of doing all that... Tired of a lot of things indeed... So, I let it be... Anyway, it has been a very low mileage week and more on-duty time consuming... I knew it after I got those darn store loads between one shipper and 4 Walmart stores... I am trying to never mind, better days lie ahead.

I'm going to bed soon myself, Rocks. I got to work at 0620 and first thing I noticed pulling in the lot was our return BOL basket on the guard desk. That can only mean one thing; dispatcher didn't come in. She called the boss but he never heard his phone. She has my number but never called me, so when I got there my work got shoved aside while I started getting everything ready to dispatch, only to find out our computer system was down. The phone was ringing off the hook from drivers wondering where they were going and why they hadn't got a load for tomorrow. I explained the situation, and finally word got passed along about what was going on, and the calls slacked off.

I found out not only was I the shock absorber again today, but I can do the work of 3 people for the pay of 1, and get the majority of it done in 9.5 hours. It's funny how the drivers were much kinder and more understanding when they found out what was going on, and I thanked each of them for all the help they were providing in helping me cover loads. I apologized to the 3 drivers I deal with directly for being a biotch, and they informed me they didn't notice I was, and not to worry about them until I got all the big stuff covered. They had their load numbers, sent them to me by text, and when I got a chance I would assign each of them, do the computer work needed and I didn't hear from them again for about 2 1/2 hours when they were ready for the next load. I love my 3 drivers. I've also realized that some of the other drivers are not as hateful or whining when the dispatcher isn't there.

G'night, folks. I hope y'all had a superb day. My eyes are drooping, so I think I'll get cozy with my bed. I have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but I told the boss I would be more than happy to come in early just in case she didn't make it in again, but he said since he hasn't heard from her he figures she will be in. I'm not quite so sure, considering the boss is gone all next week, and she won't be able to take any days off.

I tried to get on here on my phone and it wouldn't log in.
I left the house at 05:00 and hooked the trailer and went on duty driving at 06:00. Fairly FLEW through town where I EXPECTED bad traffic. Sat still for little over and hour close to first pick up. Found out when I got there that I COULD have gotten there and got loaded at 07:00. Nobody ever thought to let ME know that. On the way to second pick up got a dispatch saying pick up SDV deliver to Air France by 10:00. Told dispatch I doubted 10.
Was at second pickup until 09:30 Sent a message "correction I KNOW no way 10" He sends "all we can do is our best. Strolled into Air France at 11:07. There is a pretty good chance it got on Today's Flight anyhow.

Best thing today was 10,300# 7 crates. Not very far but I should make some decent money from it. Last three I left SDV with almost 3,500# with three stops.

Rolled in home about 18:55. Sorta beat, but GOTTA check a few more sites!
