Just had my home time in MN.
Nice time with family.

So, my previous load had been rescheduled for this morning at 0600 - just enough time for home time between loading and unloading, but getting up at 0330 to get the load there on time.
Which I did.
But the Sam's DC didn't have anyone there today that could live unload me, so it turned into a drop (with no mt available).

Since then I have sat around all day waiting for another load, but no luck so far.

I sat for 3 days last weekend because of the holiday, and now I am sitting again on a weekend just after a home time.
Sigh!

 

See, if you had your own truck you could just bobtail home lol.

The chicken pot pie is to die for.

I am being punished.
3 days waiting for a load.
I wonder when it will end.

I just got my 3rd service failure.
I overslept and was late for a delivery. Even though the customer didn't expect my load until the next day.
They had considered me a day early.

Will Swift fire me, or just wait me out until I quit?
Or is this just my slap on the wrist?

 

Making like Wille Nelson .. on the road again ... p/u tomorrow and head to Houston ... oh, and pro tip, if you are trying to bogart an mt at a terminal, putting your lock on the back and a glad hand lock, just screams this is an mt and not under load ... but it was nice of him to hold it for me ...

 

Back in Morris again and my last evening. Back OTR as of morning. After a 1500 mile week, just can not handle it. Also this will help my student. Let him get some more training that is sorely needed. He is not from Swift academy, so alot that is taught there he did not learn. Not even the QC during orientation or hardly any paper log training where he went to school.

 

They will give you loads with huge delivery windows and stupid amounts of time to get it there until you get your on time percent back up. No they won't fire you. And get a screaming meanie 220. It will prevent you after oversleeping again. I'm a very heavy sleeper and this is the only alarm that will wake me up. Get it. And remember Marco 22 is your friend. If you are delayed at a shipper for long than expected or you hit a traffic jam that's out of the normal sent the Marco. Swif is a CYA company. So it's a good idea to do same only better
