Attention USA Drivers!

good question Reycer.Signing that log is a legal and binding statement,Signing it stating the tractor and trailer has no defects when in fact it does is falsifying logs and we all know how DOT feels about that when push comes to shove.Try telling a DOT officer its not my job as a professional driver to have Everything in working order because of your feelings about the company you work for,or that you should not be responsible for going to truck stops for repairs because you don't get paid to do so.I am sure he will be really understanding and sympathetic lol.

 

Companies that enforce post trips also pay for break downs. If USA wants to enforce post trips then they are going to have to be willing to pay for the driver's time to sit at a shop with their equipment. I've had some FM's here at USA that did make sure I got paid but most dont.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START DOING WHAT YOU SAID YOU WOULD DO IN THE INTERVIEW!!!! It's not like you took the job and then found out, ohh btw, we want you to do the same job you said you would do but we are not going to pay you for it. You knew that when you took the job. If you don't want to do the job correctly, either because you are a lazy or because you now feel like you have to get paid before you do, please leave, find another job or company. It's no surprise that you are required to do a pti and a pt on all of your equipment and you are not going to get special pay for it. Don't sit here and say "well it would get done if we got paid." Do the job you are required to do.

 

First of all I never had an interview and even if I did I'm not going to sit at a shop getting the companies equipment repaired while they selectively pay some drivers and not others.. I have already made myself clear to the company where I stand on this and I also asked them if they would prefer that I just left and their response was "no".

You don't dispute the fact that you know you don't do your job as is required by Federal law though.You cant blame the company for a blatant inability to not to do the job correctly.What is the justification for falsifying logs?

 

Where do you get those facts? I have been driving for almost 6 years now and still without an accident, incident, or faild DOT inspections so if you are talking to me I have to tell you to kiss my ###. And, I have already had an in-depth meeting with USA truck on issues, where I stand and how they felt about me. They told me that that would be more than happy if I chose to continue my employment here so I guess I'm doing something right. Some of you have just kissed so much ### that you think you have earned the right to act as company spokesman and take it upon yourself to try to run off drivers that you think are bad for USA truck.
