The facts are here in this forum in your previous comments. You stated if you pick up a trailer that has issues you use your parts to fix it then when you are done with the trailer you put the old parts back in leaving the issues for the next guy.So when you do a post trip inspection after a drop you are falsifying the fact that there were no issues on said trailer that was dropped.

See I have been here six years and have not had to have any in depth meetings with anyone and where I stand and how I feel. That would make me feel like I was a whiner if I had to go talk to office people about petty things.I don't need to know how they feel about me either ,I have known since day one of employment based off of the miles I get and always go home on time, that alone lets me know how they have felt and do feel about me.I don't dispute your a good driver,do you do things the right way 100 percent ?No .Taking your lights out of a trailer that you used to fix one to make it legal is not the right way to do things.I carry lights and everything else too. When I use one I simply go buy another one and get reimbursed for it pretty simple process.I am assuming you shower at truck stops and get fuel just like I do so I bet that same process would be equally as simple for you

I was invited in for the meeting and that was a long time ago. They invited a group of drivers in to get our feedback on issues but the meeting let to some one-on-one discussions. Also, selectively paying one driver $50 for a flat tire and not the other is also the wrong way to do things and is the cause of most of these problems. But, as long as you have bozo FM's thinking that they are doing something good for the company by shorting a driver then this problem is not going to go away.Last edited: Jun 10, 2013

Well there is no reason to take your lights out of a trailer and put the old ones back in when you can get reimbursed either.I have said enough on this topic.
J_FROG Thanks this. -
So last night I picked up yet another bum trailer. This one is in such disarray that I can't move it. The worst problem is the brakes. They were so worn, that they have warped the rotors. I promptly went into the shipper and asked for the tractor number who left it there. Surprisingly she told me. So, since USA does not care to do anything about this ongoing problem, I say we post the tractor number of the idiot(s) who falsified their logs and left the trailer.
Personally, I think USA should call DOT, and inform them that these people have falsified their logs and issue them a ticket. -
Trailers have drums not rotors and they are probably not warped. If the trailer is shaking when you brake its probably because some of the brakes are out of adjustment and its easy to fix. You should have breakdown send road service out to adjust them for you if you don't know how. The DOT will put you out of service for it and safety will put you on the level 1 of 3.Last edited: Jul 7, 2013

That's a dam good idea ! Not that hard to find out who dropped the trailer and left it Non DOT compliant and falsified their logs in doing so.
-
DC what do you think about drivers that work for us that drop trailers that are not DOT Compliant and falsify their logs in doing so?

I would have just adjusted the brakes and been on my merry way.
