Well its not necessarily sad then. Young new company drivers might think scales are no big deal with their prepass and crap till they get a level one. I bypass every one I can only time I risk it is if the coop is closed or a driver said there's a lot of trucks in there. Remember talking to an old boy from new jersey in 15 years he'd been dot'd 3 times. He runs back highways almost everywhere. I think I've weighed a 2 times pulling a trailer and 6 times bob tailing (yep they actually ran me across the scale and wasted my time and theirs and everybody elses) of times never been caught never been dot'd and I #### sure don't waist 10 minutes or 15 minutes waiting to roll onto a scale. Wed have a lot less inspections if drivers were actually taught to route plan instead of punching a dresses into a GPS. Just my opinion on the matter. And its #### nice getting paid on practical miles and shaving 20-100 miles off that route taking highways:biggrin_25519:

My last new 387 it didn't matter what you've done, you couldn't get the fifth wheel to release until you gave the arm on top of the cylinder a love tap with a hammer. I notice other company drivers with the same truck having the same issues. Design flaw.

That's the way it usually goes. If you didn't care you would probably run into portables. :)

This is late helping the OP, but the next time you fuel, hit the 5th wheel lugs and sliders with Diesel. It will act like penetrating fluid to loosen the lugs/pins and also provide some lube to the tracks. If it's critical, go into the shop and have them hit it with a rosebud head on a torch and a hammer.

    Good luck.
