The larger truck stop is where I waited it out. By the time they finished the rework I had less than five hours on my clock... picked it up, scaled it and shut down. Will runner O dark thirty when my 10 is up.

Have you ever thought of being a trainer? I think you would be a good one.
-
You know what, I encourage people, I try to be supportive, had a talk with a trained just the other day during a repower, told him to keep it SL in perspective and solo time is coming, more money etc. I gladly share my experiences with those who ask and try to present things in an honest light. However, I have always been somewhat of a loner and I do enjoy my time alone in the truck so at this point, I am not really considering becoming a trainer.
When I am at the yard, I do not spend a lot of time in the drivers lounge... I do my clearance things and go back and hang out in the truck.
Maybe one day. Thanks for saying that though.nascarchuck Thanks this. -
Why is all this stuff happening in Utah recently!?
"Hey Bob, how was your day?"
"Not too bad, Jerry. Did some errands, ran to the DMV, and put 500 homes and business out of power. Pretty productive..."
Did anyone else get confused reading this? First they said he didn't know he had caught the lines and was dragging them. Then they said he suffered only minor injuries...
I don't know about y'all, but when I suffer minor injuries, that's a clue something's wrong...Dryver and Corporal_Clegg Thank this. -
May I vent? Thanks.
Millard in Geneva, IL is the most ridiculous place I have been to yet.
The load was scheduled for 6/27 1900; I was dispatched late (thanks Debbie) and checked in 6/28 0200.
It is now 2/29 0300, 25 hrs later, and I am still here.
I haven't showered.
I haven't eaten.
I'm still not loaded.
They just started pulling my load.
They tell me it may be 2 more hours.
I get VERY irritable when I'm hungry. My last meal was yesterday at 1700. So I'm not hungry. I'm starving. And I'm out of cash, so I can't order pizza or Chinese or even buy from the roach coach.
I'm ready to snap. And I will. At the very next Millard employee that reminds me that I was late.
When they regain consciousness, their clothes will have gone out of style AND have come back in style...
---
Ok. Groosfrabba...
That was necessary for the health and safety of those around me.
Very sorry.
As you were.
I'm going to eat a stack of TCHEKs. Maybe that'll tide me over... -
I feel your pain man. It is a royal pain in the watuckus when they do that to you. But, as you can see, ALWAYS have some food in the truck for times like this. It WILL happen again. I keep plenty of canned food and a small microwave. Even if yiou dont have a fridge, you can stock enough to get you by.

Debbie is one of the hardest working persons on the night shift. She does dispatching. All the trucks that were not dispatched during the day, all the dispatches that were sent out without considering HOS, resets, etc cross her desk. She is driven to do an excellent job. The task is overwhelming on some days, but she manages to keep a smile on her face most of the time and could get along with Godzilla. She is helpful to fellow workers, drivers that call and need help and very knowledgable.
Yes, she did drive at one time, so she knows trucks.
Unfortunately, she is handed a job each night that is already 4 hours behind.
No, you weren't dispatched late because of Debbie...likely she was able to get you dispatched in spite of things being late.Bigdubber, Crazy_Aardvark, KMac and 3 others Thank this. -
I think my lawyer would be asking the utility company why there power lines were not at the required height. If that street or neighborhood is not listed as restricted to truck traffic then they are at fault and not the trucker.
